Gateshed End was either an alternative name for Chatten Row, a narrow lane running from Miles Green to Riding Hill, or (more likely) an area of land adjacent to it. The house and tenement at plot 255 on the 1846 Tithe Map is described, in the Manor Court rolls, as being 'at Gateshed End'.
