Queen Lane was a plot of land, situated on the south side of Miles Green. Andrew Lamont DD, incumbent of Bisley parish from 1660-1711, donated a sum of money 'for the poor of the parish of Bisley'; in 1797 this trust purchased Queen Lane from William Tunnell (who became a sitting tenant for life).

In the Tithe Award 'Houses and garden' were measured at 1 rood and 7 perches.

In 1862, at the baptism of their daughter Jane, George and Ann Hill were recorded in the register as living in 'poors houses'; the same year, at the baptism of their son Benjamin, Daniel and Maria Stevens were recorded likewise.
