This is the Last Will and Testament of me Richard Platt of the Parish of Woking 
in the County of Surry Gentleman  I Will and direct that all my just Debts 
Funeral and Testamentary Charges and Expenses be in the first place fully paid 
and satisfied by my Executors hereinafter named and Appointed  In the first 
place I Will and direct my Executors as soon as can conveniently be done after 
my Decease to Sell and dispose of my Household Goods and Chattels which I 
may be possessed of at the time of my Decease in the best manner they can 
and the monies arising from such a sale Together with my Ready money, that is 
to say, the Two Hundred pounds now in the hands of John Bedford of Woking, 
Smith with the sum of money as may be left in the hands of Mess.rs Haydon 
Bankers Guildford Together with the rest and Residue of my personal Estate 
and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I may be possessed of Interested in 
or entitled to at the time of my Decease to be Equally divided amongst the 
Following persons Except Elizabeth Tickner the Wife of John Tickner who I 
wish to have Ten pounds Extra of Her share for Her services in attending on me  
my Brother Edward Platt if living; if not living his respective share to be Equally 
Divided amongst all The Rest, my Neice Elizabeth Cole and my Neice Ann 
Bryant the Wife of William Bryant Also William Chapman John Chapman 
Harriot the Wife of James Munk James Chapman Charlotte Jelly the Wife of 
John Jelly;  Henry Chapman and Lucy Freeland the Wife of William Freeland  
All of which I wish to have an Equal share and share alike if living, if not living 
their Respective share to be Divided amongst their Children  Also I give unto 
my Executors Five pounds Each for the Due Execution of this my last Will and 
Testament  And I do hereby make Ordain Constitute and Appoint William 
Freeland of Woking, Draper and John Tickner of Woking, Labourer Executors of 
this my last Will and Testament and do hereby Revoke and Make Void all and 
every other Will or Wills by me  at any time heretofore made and do Declare 
this only to be my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Fourteenth Day 
of June in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty two

Signed sealed published and declared  by the said Testator as and for his last 
Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in presence 
of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses to the due execution

This will of Richard Platt late of Woking in the County of Surrey, Gentleman, 
deceased was proved on the twelfth day of October 1842 before the Reverend 
Henry Ayling Clerk a surrogate by the oaths of William Freeland and John 
Tickner the Executors to whom admon was granted being first sworn duly to 
administer.
