In the Name of God Amen. I Christopher Haward of the parish of Warlingham in the County of surry yeoman being sick and weak in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be God for it) and considering with my self how uncertaine the houre of my death is, doe therefore for the settling of my worldly affairs and concerns, make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and forme following. First I bequeath and resigne my soul up into the hands of Almighty God my maker and mercifull Redeemer, stedfastly hoping yt through the merits and suffering of my only saviour Christ, to obtain full and free pardon for all my sins for ever; and my body I commit to the earth tobe decently and orderly buried according to Christian burial in sure and certain hope of a full resurrection: and as touching my worldly goods I order and dispose of yt in manner following: first I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Haward the summ of twenty pounds to be paid at the nativity of our saviour next come two yeares: Item I give to my youngest son Richard ye summe of twenty pounds to be paid him at the age of one and twenty yeares: Item I give unto each of my daughters the summe of twenty pounds to be paid as followeth; to my daughter Ann, one year after my decease: to my daughter Sarah two years after: to my daughter Joanna three years after: to my daughter Martha fower yeares after: and to my daughter Olive at the age of one and twenty: and also to my daughter Elizabeth Haward five shillings to be paid upon demand.
