This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Carpenter Smith of No. 26 Bridge Street in the Borough of Southwark in the county of Surry Solicitor I revoke all former Wills and having by Settlement bearing even date with this my Will made a Provision for my daughter which I charge on my Wife to carry into effect in case I should depart this life before the said Settlement be in all respects perfected I hereby give devise and bequeth all my real and personal property Estate and Effects unto my Wife Elizabeth Smith to hold the same unto my said Wife her Heirs Executors administrators and assigns absolutely and I appoint my aid Wife the sole Executrix of this my Will and I appoint my said Wife the Guardian of my daughter Elizabeth Smith during the minority of my said daughter until my said Wife shall cease to be my Widow and upon her ceasing to be my widow I appoint my said Wife and my friend George Raphael Ward of No. 31 Fitzroy Square in the County of Middlesex Artist and the Survivor of them to be the Guardians and Guardian of my said daughter during the rest of her minority In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
