In the name of God Amen.  I Joseph Goodiner the Elder of Woking in the 
County of Surrey yeoman  Do make my last Will and Testament in manner and 
form following (that is to say)   Whereas I have surrendered into the hands of 
the Lord of the manor of Woking in the County of Surrey all and every the 
customary Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments with their several 
and respective appurtenances of me the said Joseph Goodiner within and held 
by copy of Court Roll of the said manor to the use and Behoof of such Person 
or Persons and for such Estate or Estates therein and under and subject to 
such charges conditions and Directions as I the said Joseph Goodiner shall in or 
by my last Will and Testament in writing or any writing Purporting to be my last 
Will and Testament Give Devise Limit or appoint the same Now I do Give and 
Devise unto my Grand Daughter Sarah Jaques her Heirs and Assigns for ever 
all those my Pieces or Parcels of customary Land lying in three  several Closes 
called Rough Ground and containing by estimation five acres be the same 
more or less situate lying and being in Goldsworth in Woking aforesaid within 
the said manor with their and every of their appurtenances Subject 
nevertheless and I do hereby Charge the same with the Payment of an Annuity 
or yearly sum of two pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to my wife 
Eleanor for and during the term of her natural life by equal half yearly 
payments the first payment to begin and be made at the end of six calendar 
months next after my Decease and also subject to the payment of the sum of 
five pounds of like lawful money to my Grand Daughter Mary Goodiner 
Daughter of my son Da.. at the age of Twenty one years  Also I Give and Devise 
unto my son Joseph Goodiner his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that my 
Messuage or Tenement Barn and one acre and an half of land more or less 
belonging to and adjoining to the said Message or Tenement and four several 
Closes or platts of ground situate lying and being in Goldsworth aforesaid with 
their and every of  their appurtenances Subject nevertheless and I do hereby 
Charge the same with the Payment of the sum of Forty pounds of like lawful 
money to each of my two Daughters Eleanor Jaques the wife of John Jaques 
an Ann Hitchcock the wife of George Hitchcock Eleanor Jaques twelve 
calendar months next after my Decease an Ann Hitchcock twelve calendar 
months after her Subject nevertheless and I do hereby Charge the same with 
the Payment of the sum of five pounds to each of my Grand Daughters 
Hannah and Catherine Childrin of my son Daniel Goodiner at the age of 
Twenty one years and if ether Dye before the atain the age my will is the 
survivor shall have ten Pounds Also Subject to the Payment of an Annuity or 
yearly sum of two five pounds of like Lawfull money to my wife Eleanor for and 
during the term of her natural life by equal half yearly payments the first 
payment to begin and be made at the end of six calendar months next after my 
Decease and also subject to my said wife having the use of the said messuage 
or tenement and Furniture therein in common with my said son Joseph for and 
during the term of her natural life  also I Give and Devise unto my son Joseph 
and Daughter Ann Hitchcock one Fether Bed each Vt that in my chamber called 
my first chamber to my son Joseph Goodiner and that called my second 
chamber to my Daughter Ann Hitchcock  also I Give and Bequeath unto my said 
Grand-Daughter Sarah Jaques my clock one Bed one Chest a box two Drinktubs 
warming pan Gridirons frying pan and tongs one ewer one table in the kitchen 
all the rest of my Goods and Chattles Haycorn Straw in the Barn or Backside I 
Give and Bequeath unto my Daughters Elenaor Jaques and Ann Hitchcock and 
Sarah Jaques share and share alike also all corn hay or grass on any of my lands 
at my decease  I give and bequeath with my Horses sheep cows hogs and all 
my live stock unto my said son Joseph Goodiner also which of us departs this 
life the last my will is the shall pay toward the funeral expences share and 
share alike Lastly I nominat constitute and appoint my said son Joseph 
Goodiner to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament    In Testimony 
whereof I the said Joseph Goodiner the testator have hereto set my hand and 
Seal the Eighteenth Day of June in the year of our Lord 1777

This will of Joseph Goodiner the Elder late of Woking in the County of Surry 
deceased was proved on the 20th day of September 1778 before Worshipful 
George Harris Doctor of Laws Official by the Oath of Joseph Goodiner the son 
of the said deceased and sole Executor to whom admon was granted he having 
been first sworn duly to administer.
