In the Name of God Amen the One and twentith day of October in the yeare of or Lord God one thousand Five Hundreth & Nynetie Three And in the xxxvth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Ladye Elizabeth by the grace of God Queene of England France and Ireland defender of the Fayth &c Thomas Hayward of the paryshe of Egham in the County of Surrey yeoman lyinge sicke in his beede yet of perfecte mynde and remembrance (thancks be to god) made and declared his last Will and Testament nuncupative in manner and Forme followinge that is to say viz First and before all other thinges he bequeathed his Soule into the hands of Almightie god his maker and redemer hopinge by the Merritts of Jesus Christ his onelye Sonne to be saved And his bodye he willed to the earth to be buryed wthin the parishe of Egham so neere unto his wiffe there before buryed as conveniently mighte be And as concerninge the disposicon of his Worldlye goods he willed and bequeathed them in this manner Item he gave and bequeathed to tenn poore Folkes wthin the parishe of Egham iijs iiijd to be distributed at the discreation of his Executrix and Overseers Item he willed and bequeathed to the poore mens boxe ijs Item he gave towards a Sermon to be preached at his Funerall ijs, Item he gave and bequeathed to his Sonne William Hayward all his wearing apparell and one platter of pewter and the better parte of Twentie nobles wch is due unto him lyinge in Sussex sayinge that he knowe best whose to demande yt and whose yt was Item also he willed and bequeathed to his daughter Jone whome he appoynted his Executrix all the rest of his goods Chattells Cattells & Debtes whatsoever or wheresoever as well in Thorpe as in Egham Willinge and Commandinge her that she sholde not put out Edwarde Jenner out of the house wch he had left him nor sholde rayse his rent unles she had occasion to use yt and dwell in yt her selffe Item he also appoynted and constituted Mr Richard Kyllyfett gent Mr John Stoaden vicar of Egham Mr Edwarde Gerence and Mr Robert Alseter gent his Overseers and desyred them to be ayders and Assysters unto his sayd daughter Jone his Executrix wch aforesayde words the sayd Thomas Hayward spake and uttered in the psonne and hearinge of Thomas Foster and Ellynor Weekes the wiffe of Richard Weekes wth divers others They did pute ther meaarkes before me Thomas ???arde Curat of Thorpe the xiij of December Ano 1593 Probatum fuit ... xv die mensis Decembris 1593 ...
