In the name of God Amen  I Richard Davey of Wokeing in the 
County of Surry Taylor doe make my last Will and Testament 
in manner and form following First and principally I Commend 
my soul to God hopeing to be saved by the death of Jesus Christ 
and I order my Body to be desently buried and as concerning my 
worldly estate I Give and dispose thereof as followeth In the 
first place I give and devise unto my loveing Wife all my 
household goods and implements of household of what nature or 
kind soever  Also I give and devise unto my loveing Wife for 
and dureing the term of her Naturall Life All that my Copyhold 
or customary messuage or tenement with the Appurtenances 
Scituate lyeing and being in Wokeing aforesaid and now in my 
own occupation and after her decease to my Son Richard 
Davey his heirs and assigns for ever in case he shall survive my 
said Wife But in case my said Son Richard should happen to die 
before my said Wife then I give and devise all that my said 
messuage or tenement with the Appurtenances unto my 
Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Benjamin Monger of 
Wokeing aforesaid her heirs and assigns forever Provided she 
shall pay to each of my daughters hereafter mentioned as shall 
be then living the sum of twenty pounds a peece free and clear 
of all manner of deductions and abatements whatsoever  Alsoe I 
give and devise unto my said daughter Elizabeth her heirs and 
assignes forever All that my peece or parcell of copyhold or 
customary land Scituate lyeing and being in the Common Field 
in Wokeing aforesaid containing by estimation one acre more or 
lesse Provided that she shall pay unto my said Wife dureing the 
term of her Naturall Life the sum of Fifteene Shillings a year 
and after her decease to my daughter Anne the Wife of James 
Woods of Wokeing aforesaid the sum of twenty shillings a year 
dureing her naturall Life  Alsoe I give and devise unto my 
Loveing freinds Mr Henry Roake of Kittlewell and Mr 
Henry Roake of Grovebarrs in the parish of Horsell in the 
said County Yeomen the sum of One hundred pounds In Trust 
to dispose of in manner following Tenn pounds of which I will 
shall be paid to my said Wife within one Month after my 
decease and the other ninety pounds to be continued at interest 
for the use of my said Wife dureing her Naturall [life] she 
keeping the interest of twenty five pounds paid which I owe on 
mortgage on my said house And after her decease I give to my 
daughter Elizabeth her heires and assignes forever the sum of 
twenty pounds  Alsoe I Give to to my daughter Sarah the Wife 
of John Cooper of Wokeing aforesaid her heires and assignes 
forever the sum of thirty five pounds  Alsoe I give to my 
daughter Alice the Widow of Thomas Stokis late of 
Worplesdon in the said county deceased the sum of thirty five 
pounds and to her heires and assignes forever  And I will that in 
case I shall outlive my said Wife the said Legacyes shall be paid 
within three Months after my decease but in case my said Wife 
shall outlive me then the said Legacyes be paid within three 
Months after her decease and I will that in case any part of the 
ninety pounds or the whole thereof that shall be placed out at 
interest shall be lost my Trustees shall not be liable to pay the 
same and I Nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife full 
and Sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament revokeing 
all former wills by me made  In Testimony whereof I have 
hereunto sett my hand and Seal this twenty second day of 
September in the year of our Lord One thousand seaven hundred 
and thirty nine.

made in the twelfth line) to be his last will and Testament in the

This Will of Richard Davey late of the parish of Woeking in the 
County of Surry deceased was proved on the seventh day of 
April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and 
Forty Four before the Reverend Cornelius Seale Clerk a 
Surrogate by the Oath of Mary Davey Widow the relict and 
sole Executrix therein named to whom Admon was granted 
being first sworn Faithfully to Administer.
