This is the last Will and Testament of me James Mansell of Wokeing 
in the County of Surry Blockmaker  In the first place I desire to be 
decently Interred at the discretion of my Dear and loveing Wife 
Mary then I give and bequeath to my said Wife for and dureing the 
term of her naturall life all that my Copyhold messuage or Tenement 
and about three acres of land to the same belonging situate lying and 
being in the tything of Goldworth and called by the name of Foul 
Moyer in Woking aforesaid and from and Immediately after her 
Decease then I Give and Devise the said messuage or tenement land 
and Hereditaments with their appurtenances unto my son James 
Mansell and his heirs and assigns for ever but subject to and 
chargeable with the payment of forty pounds to my daughter Mary 
now the Wife of John Slaughter at the end of Twelve months next 
after the decease of my said Wife  I also Give to my said son James all 
my Working Tools in my shop   All the Rest of my Good Chattles and 
personal estate after payment of my just Debts and funerall 
expences I Give to my said Wife for the term of her natural life and 
from and Immediately after her Decease then I Give and Devise my 
said Personall estate to be equally Devided between my said son 
James and my daughter Mary share and share alike If my son James 
or my Daughter Mary should Die before we Both his Children to 
Receive his part equal alike & her Children her part equal alike  and I 
nominate and appoint my said Wife Mary Executrix of this my Will 
hereby Revokeing all former or other Will or Wills by me at any time 
heretofore made and I hereby desire and appoint my two friends 
[sic]
trustees and overseers to see this my Will faithfully executed  In 
witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament sett my 
Hand and Seal this eighteenth day of April in the  year of our Lord 
one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty three

and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have 
hereunto subscribed our names as Wittnesses thereto in the 
presents of the testator and in the presents of each other

This will of James Mansell late of Woking in the County of Surry 
deceased was proved on the 30th of Sepr 1783 before the Worshipful 
George Harris Doctor of Laws the Official by the Oath of Mary 
Mansell Widow the Relict of the said dec.d and sole Executrix named 
in the said Will to whom admon was granted she having been first 
sworn duly to Administer.
