In the name of God Amen  I William Chapman of Hook Heath in the 
Parish of Woking in the County of Surrey Nurseryman being of a 
sound and disposing mind and Memory do hereby declare this to be 
my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, I order 
that all my just debts, Funeral expenses and testamentary charges 
and expenses be in the first place fully paid and satisfied by my 
executors Hereinafter named and Appointed,  I give Devise and 
Bequeath unto my Dear Wife Ann Chapman, all that my Freehold 
messuage or Tenement with the Garden or Land (containing by 
measurement half an acre more or less the Boundaries extends three 
feet by measurement from the Hedge out towards the adjoining 
premises of Arthur Skeets facing from North to West) and also the 
Outhouses and Buildings and likewise including Ten rods of Freehold 
more or less by measurement adjoining the end of my son James 
Chapmans Garden with the appurtenances thereunto belonging 
situate in the parish of Woking in the said County of Surrey and now 
in my own Occupation for the term of her natural life for my said 
Wife Ann Chapman to use or Let the same to her advantage Provided 
she keep the same in repair And also all and every other my Freehold 
and Copyhold Estate whatsoever whereof I am seized or possessed 
or wherein I am anyway Interested or entitled either in Possession 
Reversion Expectancy or otherwise whatsoever To hold the same 
unto and to the only use of my said Wife Ann Chapman during the 
term of her natural life,  And after the decease of my said Wife Ann 
Chapman I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Chapman and 
my son George Chapman to be equally divided between them that is 
to say to share and share alike wholly and solely at their own 
disposal that is to say free all my said Freehold messuage or 
Tenement with the Garden (or Land) belonging thereto as aforesaid 
mentioned Half an acre and ten rods more or less with the 
Outhouses and Buildings with the appurtenances thereunto 
belonging situate at Hook Heath in the aforesaid Parish of Woking 
and in the aforesaid County of Surrey I also charge and Order after 
the decease of my said Wife Ann Chapman that my said Daughter 
Ann Chapman and my said son George Chapman when each of them 
come into possession of the above said property (But my said son 
George Chapman and my Daughter Ann Chapman is to have all the 
stools in the Nursery Garden free) each of them is to pay to each of 
their Brothers and sisters (or to my sons and Daughters) as follows 
first to Thomas Chapman Two pound ten shillings, second to Jesse 
Chapman Two pound ten shillings, third to John Chapman Two 
pound ten shillings, fourth to Sarah Bax Wife of William Bax Two 
pound ten shillings, and fifth to Mary Hill Wife of Arthur Hill Two 
pound ten shillings, the above Legacies will amount to Twelve 
pounds ten shillings of lawful money of Great Britain to be raised or 
levied out of the above said Property to be equally divided between 
the above five mentioned names to be paid by Instalments as follows 
No less such than ten shillings a year is to be paid by each of them to 
each of their Brothers and Sisters as above mentioned  But as much 
more if convenient can be spared till the Legacies are Paid off  Also I 
give and Bequeath unto my said Wife Ann Chapman all and every my 
Household Goods and furniture Chattels Personal Estate and Effects 
whatsoever and wheresoever which I may be Possessed of 
Interested in or in any way entitled to at the time of my decease To 
hold unto my said Wife Ann Chapman for her own proper use  
Absolutely And I give and Bequeath after the decease of my said 
Wife Ann Chapman all my Household Goods and furniture (if any) to 
be equally divided between my six sons and three Daughters as 
follows (as above mentioned and  ordered) that is to say to share and 
share alike First to Thomas Chapman, second to James Chapman, 
third to Jesse Chapman, fourth to John Chapman, fifth to William 
Chapman, sixth to George Chapman, seventh to Sarah Bax, and the 
eight to Mary Hill, Ninth to Ann Chapman free for them  And I do 
hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my son George Chapman 
Nurseryman Hook Heath in the parish of Woking and my said son 
James Chapman Executors of this my last will and Testament and I do 
hereby revoke and make void all and every Will or Wills by me at any 
time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and 
Testament  In Witness whereof I the said William Chapman the 
Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the Twenty fifth day of 
October in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and 
fifty one.
