In the name of God Amen  The Fourteenth day of January in the 
Eleventh year of the reign of King George the second over Great 
Britain and so forth and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven 
hundred and thirty seven  I William Collyer of Horsell in the County 
of Surry Husbandman being sick in body but of sound and perfect 
mind and understanding (praise be to God) but calling to mind the 
uncertainty of this life  Do therefore make and declare this my last 
Will in manner and form following hereby revoking all former Will or 
Wills by me heretofore made and this to be taken for my last Will 
(that is to say)  First I bequeath my Soul into the hand of Almighty 
God my Creator and my Body to the Earth to be buried at the 
discretion of my Executor hereafter named  and as for my temporall 
Estate I dispose of the same as followeth  And First of all I give and 
bequeath unto my Brother Robert Collyer Ten pounds of lawfull 
Brittish money to be paid by my Executor within Twelve Months next 
after my decease But if the said Robert do happen to depart this Life 
before the said Ten pounds be payable then the said Ten pounds 
shall be to the only use of my Executor  Next I give and bequeath 
unto Barty Hone Martha Hone sons and daughters of my Brother in 
law John Hone Fifty pounds apiece of lawfull British Money to be 
paid by my Executor within twelve Months next after my decease  
And Further I give and bequeath Fifteen pounds to be paid by my 
Executor as followeth (that is to say) my Will and meaning is that my 
said Executor shall keep the said Fifteen pounds in his own hands 
during the natural Life of her the said Ann Walden [original so] but 
my said Executor shall pay unto her the said Ann Walden lawfull 
Interest for the said Fifteen pounds during the Term of her natural 
Life and immediately after her decease the said Fifteen pounds shall 
be equally divided between all such children as the said Ann Walden 
shall have of her own Body and living at her decease And lastly all my 
Goods Chattell Credits Ready money and personal Estate not herein 
before given I give and bequeath unto John Hone the son of my 
Brother in Law John Hone And I do hereby make constitute and 
ordain him the said John Hone the younger sole Executor of this my 
last Will and Testament he paying all my just Debts Legacies herein 
before mentioned and Funeral Expences Be it remembered that 
these Words (Son and Daughters of my Brother in Law John Hone) 
between the ninth and tenth Lines (and the Word immediately) 
between the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Lines were interlined before 
the signing and sealing hereof  In Witness whereof I the said William 
Collyer have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and Year first 
above written.

This Will was proved at London on the Seventeenth Day of January in 
the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty two 
before the Worshipful Robert Chapman Doctor of Laws Surrogate of 
the Right Worshipful John Bettesworth also Doctor of Laws Master 
Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury 
lawfully constituted By the Oath of John Hone the younger the sole 
Executor named in the said Will To whom Administration was 
granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said 
deceased being first sworn duly to Administer the same.
