1591 In the name of God Amen The Nyneth Daye of November in the Three & Thyrteth yeare of the reign of our sovraign Lady Elyzabeth by the grace of god queene of Englande France & Scotlande defender of the Fayth &c I Nycholas Lambole of Wokinge Butt att the makinge hereof in Dorkinge in the Countye of Surr yeoman, being verye sicke of boddye Butt whole of mynde And of verye good & pfect memorye Thankes I dooe gyve unto allmightye god therefore Dooe ordeign and make this my last Wyll and Testament in manor and forme Followinge (revokinge All other my wylls & Testamentes Att anye tyme heretofore made) Fyrste I dooe Comende my soule unto allmighte god, And my boddye to be buryed within Dorkinge Churche, Itm I dooe gyve to the said Dokinge Churche vis viijd, Itm I dooe gyve amongest the poore people Att my buryall One kylderkyn of double beare, And Twooe dossen of breade, Itm I dooe gyve unto Foure Ryngers att my buryall to eache of them xijd, Itm I dooe wyll and gyve all and singler my Freehoulde landes & Tentes wth thapptenances whatsoever scytuate lyinge & beinge in Wokinge, Stoke, Coveham als Cobham in the sayd Countye of Surr orels where within the sayd Countye unto my kynseman, Willm Collyn sonne of Thomas Collyn of Capell in the sayd Countye of Surr, And to hys heyres & assignes forever, Itm I dooe gyve all & singler my Coppyehoulde lands and Tents with thapptenances whatsoever scytuate lyinge & beinge in Wokinge, Stoke, and Cobham afforesaid unto Thomas Lambole youngest sonne of my brother John Lambole and to hys heyres & assignes forever, He the sayd Thomas Lambole hys heyres & assignes payinge theis sumes of money unto theis psons Following, That is to saye, to hys eldest sonne viijl, to hys Twooe sisters Cycylye & Margerye Lambole to eache of them xxl, To Nycholas Clarke and Nycholas Bedforde my godchildren to eache of them xls, And to onolde Bedforde vs Itm I dooe gyve unto the other Twooe Chyldren wch the syd Thomas Collyn hadd by my sister the xiijl wch my brother Thomas Lambole oweth me to be devyded betwene the sayd Twooe Chyldren by equall porcons, Itm I dooe gyve unto Jane Smythe nowe wife of the sayd John Smythe of Dorkinge afforesaid my surgeon vl, Itm I dooe unto John Smythes sonne iijs iiijd, Itm I dooe forgyve and rellease the sayd John Smythe all the money wch he hath receyved before hande for Curynge of me, Itm I dooe gyve to Willm Maydeman my Tennt one yeres rent (yf I dooe dye) Itm whereas Willm Spenser of Wokinge aforesad gent owed me xxxl whereof I have receyved xxl, I dooe gyve Fyve poundes to be payed by myne executor and dystybuted amongest suche psons As myne executor shall thinke moste meet & Convenyente The resydewe of the sayd money with the sayd viijl wch, the sayd Willm Maydeman my Tennt oweth me, And all the resydue of my goods, Cattells Chtlls, & debtes before hereby nott gyven nor bequeathed I dooe gyve unto the sayd Thomas Collyn (my debtes Legaces & funerall beinge Fyrste dyschardged) wch sayd Thomas Thomas [sic] Collyn I dooe ordeyn & make my full and sole executor of this my laste will & Testament, And I dooe Constytute & appoynt James Sutton thelder gent And Willm Kynge of Cobham afforesaid yeoman overseers of this my laste will & Testament, And I dooe gyve to eache of them for there paynes herein to be taken xs over & besydes there expenses & charges to be borne whensoever they or any of them shall have occacon to traveyle Aboute And To Affayres touchynge this my laste wyll & Testament beinge thereunto uppon needefull busynes thereof requested or desyered to see that this my laste will & Testament be pformed by myne executr accordinge to the true meanynge hereof, In wyttnes whereof unto this my laste Wyll and Testament I the sayd Nycholas Lambole have sett my hand & seale gyven the daye & yeare Fyrste above wrytten in the presence of us.
