In the name of God Amen  I Robert Cavell of Ripley in the parish of 
Send within the County of Surry gent beinge now in perfect sense 
and memory thankes be given unto Almightie God doe make and 
ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme 
followinge (vizt)  Imprimis I doe bequeath my Soule into the hands of 
Almightie God and of Jesus Christ my alone Saviour and Redeemer 
and my body to the earth from whence it came to be interred within 
the Church of Cobham or Send accordinge to the discretion of my 
Executo.rs hereafter named  for and towards wch my funerall charges I 
have deposited into the hands of my kinsman John Tailor the full 
sume of Tenn pounds to be laid out thereupon as in his discretion he 
shall see cause  Item I give unto the Minister that shall preach my 
funerall sermon Tenn shillings  Item I give unto my brother Thomas 
Cavell the sume of Five pounds  Item I give and bequeath unto my 
beloved sister Mary Hopkins Five pounds  Item I give unto Nicholas 
Cavell sonne of my brother Thomas Cavell Forty shillings  And to 
Elizabeth Cavell and Mary Cavell his sisters Forty shillings a peece  
Item I give unto John Cavell sonne of my brother John Cavell late of 
Kingston deceased the sume of Foure pounds and to every of his 
sisters (vizt) Grace, Anne, Mary, Susann, and Hanna Cavell foure 
pounds a peece  And I further will and bequeath unto the said Grace 
Cavell one featherbed and bolster now remayninge in the hands and 
custody of her Mother Elizabeth Cavell  Item I give unto Anne 
Matlett wife of Robert Matlett of London Merchant Taylor foure 
pounds and to Christian Matlett her daughter three pounds  Item I 
give and bequeath unto my kinswoman Susan Tailor wife of John 
Tailor the sume of Tenn pounds, alsoe I give and bequeath unto her 
the said Susan the bedd whereon I now lye upon, and all the 
furniture thereunto belonginge with the bedsted in the next roome 
adjoyninge  Item I give unto Robert Russell my Godsonne forty 
shillings  Item I give unto Joane Russell his sister Forty shillings Item I 
give unto Ruth Russell his second sister Forty shillings  Item I give 
unto Sarah Russell his third sister in respect of her impotency the 
sume of Five pounds  Item I give unto Robert Hawkins my Godsonne 
forty shillings and unto John Hawkins his brother forty shillings, and 
unto Margarett Hawkins their sister forty shillings,  Item I give and 
bequeath unto John Gander my kinsman forty shillings, and unto 
Robert Gander my Godsonne his brother I will and bequeath the 
sume of Nyne pounds  Alsoe I give unto James Gander the third 
brother the sume of Forty shillings  Item I give and bequeath unto 
three of their sisters (vizt) Mary, Joane and Anne Gander to each of 
them forty shillings a peece  Item I give unto my sister Elizabeth 
Cavell late of Kingston as a token of my love the sume of Twenty 
shillings  Item I give and bequeath unto John Tailor my kinsman all 
my wearing apparell and forty shillings in money  Item I further will 
and bequeath unto Susan Tailor his wife all my goods now 
remaininge in the house of him the said John Tailor in Ripley 
menconed and expressed in a certaine Indenture dated the Sixteenth 
of February one thousand sixe hundred Forty five  Item my will and 
meaninge is that all the before menconed legacies by me 
bequeathed shalbe instly paid by my Executo.rs within the space of 
one whole yeare next after my decease,  And I doe hereby further 
declare my Will and intent to be that none of the above menconed 
legatees shalbe capable of such their legacies or legacie unles 
demannd thereof be made within the space of Two yeares next after 
my decease  Item all the rest and residue of such my money goods 
and chattells herein not named and unbequeathed & my debts 
legacies and funerall charges being first paid and discharged I give 
and bequeath unto my welbeloved brother Thomas Cavell, Elizabeth 
Cavell late of Kingston upon Thames my sister in lawe, and Susan 
Tailor my kinswoman equally to be devided betweene them, whome 
I ordaine and appoint to be whole and sole Executo.rs of this my last 
Will and Testament, to act and performe all and every thinge and 
things belonginge to an Executo.r to see the same performed 
accordinge to the true intent and meaninge of this my last Will and 
Testament And lastly I make and ordaine John Martin of Kingston 
upon Thames in the County of Surry gent and Richard Stoughton of 
the parish of Send in the County aforesaid yeoman Overseers of this 
my last Will and Testament And for their paines to be taken therein I 
give and bequeath to each of them Twenty shillings a peece to be 
paid unto them within halfe a yeare next after my decease by my 
said Executo.rs  In witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hand and 
Seale this twelveth day of January in the three and twentith yeare of 
the raigne of our sovereign Lord Charles by the grace of God of 
England, Scotland, France, and Ireland Kinge defender of the faith &c
