In the name of God Amen the Five and Twentieth Day of April Ano Dni 1690 and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our Gracious Soveraigne Lord & Lady King William the third & Queene Mary the second &c I John Slyfeild of Woking in the County of Surry yeoman, being weake & infirme in body but of sound and perfect mind & memory (praise be given to god) doe make & ordeyne this my last Will and Testament in manner & forme following revoking and adnulling all former and other Wills by me heretofore made and this is to be taken for my last Will and Testament & no other (That is to say) First and principally I commend my soule into the Hands of allmighty god my Creator & Redeemer hoping by the reconciliacon of Jesus Christ to be saved only and my body to the Earth from whence it came to be buried in such decent manner in the Chruchyard of Woking as it shall please my Executor hereafter named to appoint, and as touching such small temporall estate as the Lord of his mercy far above my deserts hath bestowed uppon me my Will & meaning is the same shall be employed & bestowed as hereafter by this my Will is expressed, Imp.s I give & bequeath unto John my eldest Son Tenn pounds & to my daughter Mary the Wife of Edward Burke Threescore poundes to be paid unto them wthin three Moneths next after my decease by my Executor hereafter named Item I give & bequeath unto my Grandchild & Goddaughter Elizabeth the daughter of John Slyfeild aforesaid & to Rose Burke my Grandchild & Goddaughter Five shillings apeece Item I give & bequeath unto my three God Children John Genons Damaris Snuth & John Spong Foure shillings a peece, And as for all the rest of my Goods Chattells & Debts not above given & bequeathed I give & bequeath unto Henry Slyfeild my youngest Son whom I make and Ordeyne sole Executor of this my said last Will and Testament In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written.
