In the name of God Amen  I Thomas Hayward of the Parish of Oxted 
in the County of Surrey Yeoman This Twelfth Day of August in the 
year of our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred Eighty One being of 
sound & perfect Memory and in good health of Body (thanks be 
given to God) doe make & Ordaine this my last Will and Testament in 
Manner and Forme following  Impris I commend my soul unto 
Allmighty God my Maker firmely trusting and beleiving in the meritts 
& suffering of my Saviour Jesus Christ and that [thr]ough them and 
by his Mediation I shall receive Salvation of my poor Soul and my 
Body to be buryed in the Parish Churchyard I[n Oxte]d aforesaid 
according to the Will and pleasure of my Executours whom I shall 
herein nominate and appoint  Item I will that all such Debts and 
Dutyes as of right I owe and ought in conscience to be paid to any 
person or persons wtsoever be well and truly contented and paid by 
mine Executors hereafter named and my Debts being so paid and my 
funerall Expences dischardged, I doe give and bequeath unto my 
Second Sonne William Hayward the sume of Tenn Pounds to be paid 
unto him at the End of one whole year immediately succeeding after 
my Decease by my Executors  Item I give and bequeath unto Robert 
King Husband of my late Daughter Elizabeth the sume of One shilling  
Item I give and bequeath unto Martha my second Daughter wife of 
William Ousley the sume of One shilling  Item I give and bequeath 
unto Katherine my Third Daughter and to Edward Dunn her 
Husband the sume of two shillings (that is to say) to each of them 
One shilling All wch said Legacies of One shilling a piece I doe ordaine 
shalbe paid immediately after my Decease to all and every of the said 
Legatees  And For as much as my Daughter Martha being a good and 
dutyful Child unto me hath neverthelesse by her owne imprudence 
married her selfe unto the aforesaid William Ousley a person of a 
Debauch life and conversacon who hath severall tymes not onely 
abused her in person, but sold her Goods that I have given her and 
him even to her wearing Apparell to serv[e] his Luxury and then run 
away leaving her and One Sonn by her to the Provision of the parish 
or the Charity of good People Yet nevethelesse fearing my poor 
Daughter Martha may by the unnaturall and unworthy behaviour of 
her said Husband be at some tyme or other reduced even unto the 
want of bread for her selfe and her child; I doe hereby Ordaine Will 
bequeath and deposite into the hands of my Executours or one of 
them the sume of Five Pounds, The interest whereof I doe will and 
Ordaine shall be during the life of the said William Ousley be paid 
unto my Daughter Martha or her assignes And if it shall please God 
that my Daughter Martha shall survive the said William Ousley That 
then within One moneth after his Decease, my Executours shall pay 
or cause to be paid the said sume of Five Pounds unto my said 
Daughter Martha and if it shall happen that my said Daughter 
Martha shall dye before her Husband their son Isaac - surviving, It is 
then my Will and I doe hereby bequeath the aforesaid sume of Five 
Pounds unto my said Grandchild Isaac ~ Ousley to be paid unto him 
when he shall attaine the full Age of Eighteene Yeares, by my 
Executors,  And my Debts and funerall Expences and Legacies being 
paid and discharged, All the rest of my Goods and Chattells I doe give 
and bequeath unto my Dear Wife Elizabeth and my wellbeloved 
Sonn Thomas Hayward whom I hereby make and Ordaine Executors 
of this my last Will and Testament; to be  equally devided & 
proporconed betweene them, And I doe hereby revoke and adnull all 
and every other former Testaments, Wills Legacies, Bequests, 
Executours and Overseers by me in any waies before this tyme 
named Willed and bequeathed  In Witness whereof I have hereunto 
sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written and doe 
publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
