In the name of God Amen The Eighth day of May in the Seaven and twentyeth yeare of the raine of our most gracious sovraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scottland France and Ireland King defender of the Faith &t Anno Dni 1675 I Henry Welles the elder of Woking in the County of Surrey husbandman being sick & weake in body but of sound & perfect memory thanks be to Allmighty God for the same and calling to mind the uncertaine estate of this transitory life and that all Flesh must yeild unto death when it shall please God to call And being desirous to settle things in order Doe make this my last Will & Testament in manner and forme following (That is to say) First and principally I bequeath my Soule to Almighty God my Creator and my Body to the Earth from whence it came to be buryed in such decent and xpian manner as to my Executrixe & Executor shall be thought meet and convenient there to rest untill my Soule and body shall meet again and be ioyned together at the ioyfull resurrection And touching such temporall estate as the Lord hath beene pleased (of Goods and Chattells Far above my deserts to bestow upon me) I doe order give bequeath and dispose the same in manner and forme following Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Collyer the Wife of Richard Collyer of Woking afforesaid One shilling Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Wheatley the sume of Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her or her assigns wthin one yeare next after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto Henry Welles my son the sume of Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be payd unto him or his assigns at th'end of two yeares next after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto Daniell Welles my sonne the sume of Five pounds of like lawfull money to be payd unto him or his assigns at th'end of Three yeares next after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Jane Welles the sume of Ten pounds of the like lawfull money of England to be payd to her or her assigns at th'end of Four yeares next after my decease Item all the rest of my Goods and Chattells whatsoever is yett unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto my dear & loveing Wife Elizabeth and John Welles my sonne whom I make Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament But it is my will and meaning that the said Elizabeth my wife shall have two parts and the said John my sonne a Third part of the said Goods and Chattells And it is further my Will & meaning that if the said Elizabeth my wife shall happen to dye or depart this life before that this my said last Will and Testament shall be proved That then the said two parts soe bequeathed to the said Elizabeth my wife shall be equally devided and distributed betweene my two daughters (that is to say Mary Wheatley and the said Jane Welles And alsoe betweene my three sonnes (that is to say) Henry Welles John Welles and Daniell Welles, And I desire my said Executrixe & Executor carefully to pay my Debts and Legacyes and Funerall charges And I desire my trusty and loveing Friends Richard Hunt of Woking afforesaid yeoman and Samuel Heath of the same parish Taylor to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament And I frustrate and make voyd all willes and Testaments at any time by me made and done and declare this to be my last Will and Testament only In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale the day & yeare first above written. the marke H of Henry Welles Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Henry Welles th'elder for his last Will and Testament and the words in Wth are interlyned was done before the ensealing hereof in the presence of us Nicholas Hunt Sam: Heath Probatum fuit ...
