In the name of God Amen The One and Thirtieth day of July in the year of our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty Five I Jane Waterer of the parish of Woking in the Countie of Surrey widdow being sick & weake in body but of sound & perfect memory praysed be Allmighty God for the same, and knowing the uncertainty of this life that all Flesh must die and yeild unto death when it shall please God to call, Doe make this my last Will & Testament in manner & Forme following (That is to say) First and principally I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator & redeemer assuredly beleiveing that by the merits of my blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ I shall receive full pardon and free remission of all my sinnes And I bequeath my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buryed in such decent and Christian manner as my Executrix hereafter named shall thinke meet & convenient, And I bequeath the sume of Foure pounds of lawfull money of England to my Executrix to defray my Funerall charges Item I give & bequeath unto Edward Edmund als Edmead of Chertsey One shilling Item I give & bequeath unto John Edmead my Cousen all that my Cottage wch is situate in Chobham in the Countie of Surrey afforesaid wth Orchard, Gardens, Gateroomes, easem.ts and all other pfitts therunto belonging the Parke of Chobham one the East, wch sd Cottage wth ye appurtennces therunto belonging as afforesd, I give and bequeath to the sd John Edmead & to his heires for ever after my decease wth this Condition that the sd John shall pay or cause to be paid unto Susannah Marshall the sume of Eight pounds of lawfull money of England wthin two years next after my decease And if the sd John shall refuse to pay the sd sume of Eight pounds as afforesd my will and meaning is that the sd Susannah shall reenter upon the sd Cottage & all other the appurtennces [paper torn & missing here] ..foresd & the sd John Edmead utterly to expell & to take it to her owne pper use & behoofe ...ner Item I give & bequeth unto John Edmead son of Edward Edmead the sume of Five ...ds of lawfull money of England to be payd to him wthin One whole yeare next after my [dece]ase Item I give & bequeath unto Mary Sackfeild the sume of Two pounds of lawfull [mo]ney of England to be payd to her wthin One whole yeare next after my decease Item I give unto ye above named Susannah Marshall and to Margarett Stoughton to each of them one Pettycoat Item I give and bequeath unto Amey Kitchener of Guildford the sume of Six shillings of lawfull English money to be payd wthin One moneth next after my decease Item I give and bequeath (all my Goods & Chattells unbequeathed paying my debts & Legacyes & My funerall Charges) unto my loveing sister Agness Westbroock whome I make constitute & ordaine sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testam.t And I desire my trusty & loveing Friends William Sherrett of Woking afforesd yeoman, And Thomas Costen of the said pish yeoman, to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testam.t and I give unto them the sume of Five shillings equally to be devided betweene them for their paines & care to be taken heerin In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale the day & yeare first above written. the marke of Jane + Waterer Signed and Sealed in the presence of Ann Costen William Sherrett Probatum fuit ...
