In the name of God Amen the Fourteenth day of February in the First and Twentyeth yeare of the raigne of our Sovreigne Lord James the second by the grace of God King of England &c Annoqe dni 1684 I John Mackerrell th'elder of Woking in the County of Surrey yeoman being sick and weak in Bod, but of sound & pfect mind and memory praysed be Allmighty God for the same Doe make this my last Will & Testament In manner & forme following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soule to Allmighty God my Creator assured by beleiving that by the meritts and reconciliacon of my blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ I shall receive full pdon and free remission of all my sinnes and be saved And I bequeath my Body to the Earth to be decently buryed according to the discretion of mine Executrix hereafter named And as for my temporall Estate as the Lord of his infinite goodness & mercy hath lent unto me I give and bequeath the same as followeth Whereas I the said John Mackerell th'elder did upon the Seaven & twentieth day of Aprill Anno Dni 1683 last past Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the Mannor of Woking afforesd by the hands & acceptance of Nicholas Hunt & William Harvest two customary Tenants of the said Mannor To the use of my last Will and Testament All that my Coppyhold Messuage or Tenemt with all & every of th' appurtenances thereunto belonging as in & by the said Surrender relacon being thereunto had more at large appears! Now I devise & give & bequeath as followeth (That is to say) I give and bequeath All that my said Coppyhold Messuage or Tenemt with all the lands and Premisses therein the said Surrender menconed wth their & every of their appurtenances thereunto belonging to the use of Ellen my owne Wife for the term of her naturall life And after her decease I will & devise the same unto John Mackerell my sonne & his heires to have & hold according to the custome of the said Mannor upon condicon that the said John Mackerell my sonne & his heires shall well & truly pay unto my Grandchild Edward Cobbett the full & Just sume of Tenn pounds of lawfull money of England when he the said Edward shall attaine and be of the age of One and twenty yeares, but in case the said Edward Cobbett shall happen to die before he shall attaine & be of ye sd age of One and twenty yeares that then the payment of the said sume of Tenn pounds shall be void & of none effect, Item I give & bequeath moreover unto the said Ellen my Wife all that my Freehold Messuage or tenement situate lying & being in Woking afforesaid with all the Freehold Lands thereunto belonging and appertaining wth all and every of the appurtenances To have & to hold to the said Ellen and her assigns for & dureing the term of her naturall life The remainder unto my Sonne Robert Mackerell and his heires for ever upon condicon that the said Robert Mackerell or his heires shall well & truly pay unto my Grandchild John Cobbett the full sume of Tenn pounds of lawfull money of England, to be paid unto him when the said John shall be of the age of One and twenty yeares, but in case the said John shall happen to die before he shall be of the said age of One and twenty yeares I will & devise the payment of the said sume of Tenn pounds to be void & of none effect, Item I give & bequeath unto Richard Lee my Grandchild One shilling to be paid unto him by mine Executrix Item I give & bequeath unto the said Ellen my Wife All my Goods and Chattells whatsoever are yett unbequeathed and I make constitute & ordain the said Ellen my Wife Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament & I frustrate & make void all Wills formerly by me made & done and I declare this to be my last Will & testament only.
