In the name of God Amen I Richard Hodd of Woking in the County of Surry yeoman Do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form following; I Commend my Soul to the Mercies of God and my Body to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named; and my worldly Estate I Give and dispose thereof as followeth first my will and meaning is that all my just Debts and funeral Expences be fully satisfied and paid out of my personal Estate. I Give and Devise unto my Daughter Ann all that my Copyhold Messuage or tenement and all that my Copyhold Lands thereunto belonging by estimation four acres and that to be the same more or less together with all Barns, Buildings, Out houses, orchards and Yardings with the appurtenances (Called or known by the name of Easawes lying and being in the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surry the which came to me at the Death of my Father Richard Hodd late of Bisley Deceased being Given to me in and by the last Will and Testament of my said Father Richard Hodd the Elder) to hold unto her the said Ann my Daughter and to her heirs and Assigns for ever according to the Custom of the said Manor subject nevertheless to pay out of the same or other ways the summe of forty shillings A year unto Jane my Beloved Wife and Every year for the term of her Natural Life and keeps her self A widdow and I do Charge all that my aforesaid Copyhold Estate for the payment of the same, and for which purposes have or will, Execute Asurrender I Give devise and Bequeath unto Jane my beloved Wife all that my Copyhold messuage or tenement, Orchard, Gardings, Backsides out houses, Edifices with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining lying in the Tything of shackleford in the parish of Wokeing in the County of Surry abutting to certain Lands of Richard Lee on the north and South parts and to the highway leading to Wokeing on the East & West parts to hold unto the said Jane my beloved Wife for the term of her natural life and after her Decease I Give and Devise the same (that is to say) all that my Copyhold messuage or tenement, Orchard, Gardings, Backsides out houses, Edifices with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining lying in the Tything of shackleford in the parish of Wokeing in the County of Surry afor said to the only use and behoof of my sonne James Hodd And his heirs and Assigns for Ever according to the custom of the said manor for which purposes have Executed Asurrender to the use of my Will All my Goods and Chattles of what kind soever and not before by me Given, I Give and bequeath the same unto Jane my beloved Wife whom I make and ordain my whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and testament In Wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand seaven hundred, sixty and one.
