In the name of God Amen The Fourteenth day of June in the 
Thirtyeth year of the raigne of our Soveraigne King Charles the 
second &ts Annoq Dni 1678  I James Hooke of Woking in the County 
of Surrey Miller being sick and weake in Body but of sound and 
perfect memory Praysed be Almighty God for the same  Doe make 
my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following  First and 
principally I comend my soule to Allmighty God my Creator assuredly 
believing that by the meritts and reconciliation of our blessed Lord 
and saviour Jesus Christ I shall receive full pardon and free remission 
of all my sinnes and be saved And I bequeath my Body to the Earth 
from whence it was taken to be buried in decent and Christian 
manner according to the discretion of my Executor hereafter named  
Item I give and bequeath unto my verry loveing Sister Anne Hooke 
the full and just sume of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to 
be paid unto her at the end of Twelve monthes next after my 
Decease  Item I give and bequeath moreover unto my said loveing 
Sister Anne Hooke One Joynt Bedsted standing in the Chamber 
where I now lye in, wth The Curtains & Valleines & Curtaine Rods 
matt & Cord thereto belonging and alsoe the Feather Bed and 
Feather Bolster and one Milpuffe Bolster Two pillowes and two 
Pillow Baggs and alsoe the Rugg there and Three Blanketts Foure 
paire of the best Sheets one Dozen of Napkins and Two Table 
Cloathes  And alsoe one Feather Bed and Bolster and two pillowes 
wth the Joynt Bedsted Matt & Cord wth the Curtains & Valleines & 
all things also thereto belonging now standing in the Chamber over 
the Hall where I now dwell  And alsoe two large pewter Dishes and 
two pewter Candlesticks and one paire of brasses And Irons and one 
brasse Fire Shovell wth the brasse paire of Tongs and one paire of 
Bellowes and the Screws to hang them upon and one Silke lyne And 
alsoe one great Brasse Kettle wth two of the biggest Skilletts one 
Iron Pott wth the Iron Potled and one paire of pott hooks & one paire 
of pott hangers and one Jacke to Turne Spitt with and one spitt and 
one Tosting Iron and one Frying pan one pewter flaggon one pewter 
saltceller and one brasse warmingpan And alsoe one small Dressing 
Table wth the Red Carpett thereunto now standing & being in the 
Chamber over the Hall and alsoe Three Turned new wooden Chaires 
all which Goods before menconed given and bequeathed to my said 
loveing Sister Anne Hooke to be delivered unto her at the end of 
Twelvemonths next after my decease  Item I give and bequeath unto 
my Kinseman Joseph Collyer (the sonne of James Collyer late of 
Woking aforesaid Miller) the sume of Fifteen pounds of lawfull 
money of England to be paid unto him at the end of Six yeares next 
after my decease if he shall be then living but if he shall happen to 
die before the sd terme of Six yeares be expired I give and bequeath 
the said sum of Fifteen pounds to be paid to the said James Collyer 
my Uncle at the end of Six yeares as afforesaid  And if that the said 
James Collyer shall happen to die before the sd terme of Six yeares 
be fully expired It is my Will and meaning that the  said sum of 
Fifteen pounds shall be paid & equally Devided amongst the rest of 
the Children of the said James Collyer wch shall be then living (that is 
to say) Richard Collyer James Collyer John Collyer and Sarah now 
the wife of Thomas Adland of Guildford Blacksmyth  Item I give and 
bequeath unto my verry loveing Brother Richard Hooke the Lease of 
Woking Milles wch I now hold with all other my Chattells and Goods 
whatsoever are yet unbequeathed he or his Executors 
Administrators or assignes paying of my Debts and Legacyes before 
menconed and alsoe my Funerall charges whom I make Executor of 
this my said last Will and Testament and I frustrate and make void all 
Wills formerly by me made and done and declare this to be my last 
Will and Testament only In Witnes whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written.  James Hooke
Signed Sealed published Pronounced and declared by the said James 
Hooke for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us and the 
words (and one paire of Bellows) was Interlyned before the ensealing
