In the name of god amen the sixth day of June in the year of our Lord Gode One thousand Six hundred and Sixty Foure I John Davy the elder of the parish of Woking in the Countye of Surrey Blacksmith being sick and weake in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be given to Almighty God for the same doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) Imprimis I bequeath my soule to god Almyghty my creator and redeemer by whose death and passion and by none other I assure my soule of pardon & forgiveness of all my sinnes And my body to be buryed in the churchyard of Woking aforesaid And to be buryed in such decent and christian manner as my Executor hereafter mentioned shall think meet and convenient Item I I give and bequeath unto Alice Davey my wife All my houshold goods which I had of her at the time of Maryage now being within doores Item my will & true meaning is that if my Grandchild John Davey son of Thomas Davey of Hascombe in this County Blacksmyth deceased shall happen to dye before he attains to the age of one and Twenty years that the Lands by me purchased lyeing & being in Woking afforesd & being in the tenure or occupation of Joseph Wither shall be sold & the money equally to be devided betwixt all my Grandchildren Children of John Davey & Richard Davey and Edward Davey my sonnes evye one of them to have an equall share or proportion Item I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Davey all my waering apell both linen & woollen and also all my overbeing Pooles and also Ten shillings of good and lawfull money of England to be payd whin one halfe year next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Davey Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be payd to him whin one halfe year next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Davey my Grandchild if she continue wth me till my decease the full & just sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England to be payd to her whin one halfe year next after my decease Item I make constitute and ordaine my son John Davey Executor of this my last will & testam.t And alsoe give unto him all the rest of my Goods and Chattells both wthin doores & wthout unbequeathed my legacyes before given & my Funerall charges disbursed In wittness wherof I have heerunto sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written John Davey Signed and Sealed in the presence of Sam: Heath John Sayer Octimo die mensis Maii anno dni 1666 probat fuit ... dw/pa/5/1666/26
