In the name of God Amen I Alexander Dover of Horsell in the County 
of Surry yeoman Being at present in perfect Health but of sound 
mind memory understanding and not known how long I shall live in 
this transitory life do make this my last will in manner following my 
Soul I bequeath to almighty God hoping for Salvation and my body to 
the Earth from whence it came And my worldly Estate I dispose of as 
followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Sarah Coston her heirs 
and assigns forever the sum of One hundred pounds of lawful money 
of Great Britain to be paid by my Executor after named for which I 
have given her a Bond for I think myself bound as well in justice as 
through Gratitude for all her trouble she have been at for me 
therefore over and above the beforementioned Legacy I give and 
bequeath to the said Sarah Coston an Annuity or yearly rent of 
twenty pounds during the term of her natural life to be paid to her 
by four quarterly payments to wit the 25th day of March the 24 day 
of June the 29th day of September and the twenty fourth day of 
December in every year the first payment to begin and to be made 
upon the first of the said days which shall happen next after my 
decease and to be paid by my Executor and from and after her 
decease the said Annuity or rent shall cease and be void I give and 
bequeath unto Thomas Dover my kinsman his Heirs and assigns 
forever the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid out of the stocks 
after my decease and the decease of Sarah Coston  Also I give unto 
Thomas Dover the Leases of all the Lands  which I rent or hold at 
Water Lane and Giles without any trouble or denial of any person or 
persons Also I give and devise unto Thomas Dover his Heirs forever 
all my Horse Waggons Carts Harrows Ploughs Sheep Cows and all 
other my Implements of Husbandry after my decease  I give and 
bequeath unto Elizabeth Daves of Hileton her Heirs and assigns 
forever the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid out of the stocks 
after my decease and Sarah Costons I give and bequeath unto Mary 
Bishop my Niece her Heirs and assigns forever the Sum of Fifty 
pounds out of the stocks after my decease and Sarah Costons  I give 
and bequeath unto Hope Dovers Children the Sum of Fifty pounds 
out of the stocks to be equally divided between them share and 
share alike as the atain the age of twenty one years and if any depart 
his or her life then that childs part to go to part among the other 
living  and so soon after my decease and Sarah Costons all my 
Freehold House and Land situate in Horsell and Woking called 
Brockhills or wheresoever (except what is before devised) And also 
the Rest and Residue of my personal Estate whatsoever after 
payment of my debts Funeral charges and Legacies I give and devise 
and bequeath to my kinsman Robert Dover of Horsell his Heirs 
Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever and do nominate 
constitute and appoint him to be Executor of this my last Will and 
Testament In testimony whereof I the said Alexander Dover the 
Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty Seventh 
day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and 
eighty five Alex.r Dover 
Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Alexander Dover 
the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us 
who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other 
set our hands as Witnesses to the execution of this said Will William 
Collyer, William Hall, John Matthews

Since I have made this Will I thinks I have given unto Thomas Dover 
more than his share  I do hereby order that he should be paid only 
Fifty pounds instead of a hundred pounds And I do will and order 
that my Executors do pay unto Sarah Ridger who is now my Nurse 
the Sum of forty Shillings a year and every year untill her Daughter 
Mary Ridger attains to the age of twenty one years to pay for 
schooling and when the said Mary Ridger have attained to the age of 
Twenty One years I give her the Sum of Fifty pounds and I charge my 
Freehold Estate with the payment of it And it is my Will that the Hay I 
may have by me at my death shall be the property of Robert Dover 
And I charge this to stand part of my Will In Witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand and Seal this Sixth day of February in the year 
of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two - But if the 
said Mary Ridger should dye before she have attained to twenty one 
years of age then I give the said Fifty pounds unto the said Sarah 
Ridger and this shall stand part of my Will Alex.r Dover Alexander 
Dover his Mark in the presence of William Rapley Philip Gyles

Since I have made this my Will I thinks I have given unto Dame Yevell 
the Sum of ten pounds which I charge my Executors to pay likewise 
to William Glaizer the Sum of ten Pounds also to John Heather my 
little Brown Mare also to Mary Bishop I have given the Sum of Fifty 
pounds but now I aded Fifty pounds more and her Sisters four 
Daughters to have ten pounds apiece out of the Stock accordingly as 
it run  I charge this to stand part of my Will In Witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand and Seal this eighth day of December in the 
year of our Lord 1792 -Alex.r Dover in the presence of John 
Matthews, William Rapley 

This Will was proved at London with two Codicils on the twenty 
second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven 
hundred and ninety three before the Worshipful John Nicholl Doctor 
of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne 
Knight Doctor of Laws and Master Keeper or Commissary of the 
Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of 
Robert Dover the Nephew of the deceased and Sole Executor named 
in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and 
singular the  Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased having been 
first sworn duly to administer.
