This is the last Will and Testament of me John Spooner of the Parish of Abinger in the County of Surry Yeoman made and published this seventh day of March in the seventh year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith Annoq Domini 1720 Impris I commend my Soul into the hands of Allmighty God hoping thro' the merritts of my blessed Saviour to obtain full pardon of all my Sins Item I give to the poor of the parish of Abinger the Sum of twenty shillings Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Son John Spooner all that my messuage Farme and lands called Burchett Situate in Abinger aforesaid to hold unto my said Son John Spooner his heirs and Assignes for ever Item I give unto my said Son John Spooner Farm and lands Weeks and Weeks Wood Situate in Surry in the said County of Surry to hold to my said Son John Spooner his heirs and Assignes for ever Item I give and devise unto my Son Thomas Spooner the Sum of five hundred pounds to be paid by my said Son John when my said Son Thomas shall attaine his Age of One and twenty years Item my Will and mind is that in case my said Son John shall neglect or refuse to pay the said Legacy of five hundred pounds given to my said son Thomas as aforesaid then I hereby give devise and bequeath the messuages Farms and lands (so given to my said Son John) unto my said Son Thomas to hold to him and his heirs for ever Item my Will and mind is and I hereby desire my good Freinds John Warsfold of Forrest Green and Thomas Sadler of Dunsfold to look after and manage the said Estates untill he shall attaine his Age of one and twenty years nevertheless to permit and suffer my dear and loveing Wife Mary to receive the rents issues and profitts for the maintenance and Education of my said Sons untill my said son shall attain his Age of one and twenty years Item I hereby constitute and appoint the said John Warsfold and Thomas Sadler Executors of this my last Will and Testament Item all the rest and residue of my Estate after payment of my debts Legacies and funeral expences I hereby give and bequeath unto my said sons John and Thomas to be equally divided between them Share and Share alike and revokeing all former and other Wills by me heretofore made I hereby publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written John Spooner (Attestation Clause) William Lipscombe _ Richard Penfold _ John Bonwicke (Codicil giving Executors power to cut down timber - same Witnesses) Proved at London 9 May 1721 PCC Prob11/580
