This is the last Will and Testament of me Edmund Vincent of Woking in 
the County of Surry Yeoman as follows I give devise and bequeath unto 
my Brother Peter Vincent and my Nephew Edmund Vincent all and 
singular my Freehold Copyhold and Leasehold Messuages Buildings Farms 
Lands Hereditaments and Premises called or known by the several Names 
of Hook Hill and Hunts Land or by any other name or names whatsoever 
situate lying and being in the Parish of Wokeing afores.d and now in the 
several Tenures or occupations of James Stevens and Thomas Stevens To 
hold to the use of them the said Peter Vincent and Edmund Vincent their 
Heirs Executors and Admors  Also I give and bequeath to the said Peter 
Vincent and Edmund Vincent all and singular my Goods Chattels Credits 
ready Money in the Funds and Securities for Money Stock in Trade Plate 
Linen China Furniture and all other my Personal Estate and Effects 
whatsoever and wheresoever  and of what nature or kind soever the 
same may be which I may be possessed of or entitled to at the time of my 
decease upon this Special trust and Confidence nevertheless and I do 
hereby declare that the said several Freehold Copyhold Leasehold and 
Personal Estates hereinbefore given devised and bequeathed to the said 
Peter Vincent and Edmund Vincent their Heirs Executors & Administrators 
were and are intended to be so given devised and bequeathed to them 
respectively upon Trust that they said Peter Vincent and Edmund Vincent 
or the Survivor of them or the Heirs Executors or Administrators of such 
Survivor shall and do as soon as conveniently may be after my decease 
sell and dispose of the said Messuages Buildings Farms Lands and 
Hereditaments by public Auction either together or in parcels for the 
most Money and best price or prices than cane be reasonably had or 
gotten for the same  and also shall and do Convert the whole of my said 
Personal Estate into ready Money and from and out of the Money which 
shall arise by such Sale or Sales and  from and out of my Personal Estate 
shall and do pay off and discharge all and every such Debts as I shall owe 
at the time of my decease to any person or persons whomsoever either 
by Mortgage Bond or other Security or Simple Contract it being my intent 
that the several Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and 
Premises which are hereinafter given and devised by me shall subject to 
the proviso hereinafter mentioned be held and enjoyed by the several 
persons to whom I shall severally give and devise the same freed and 
discharged of and from the payment of any Debt or Sum of Money to 
which the same may be liable at the time of my decease by Mortgage 
Conditional Surrender Bond or other Specialty and from and after the full 
payment and satisfaction of my said Debts and the Expences attending 
the Sale of my said Estates together with my Funeral Expences the 
Expences pf proving this my Will Upon Trust by and out of the Monies 
aforesaid to pay the several Legacies or Sums of Money following which I 
give and bequeath to the several Legatees at the expiration of twelve 
Calendar Months next after my decease to my Sister Ann Capron the 
Wife of Anthony Capron the Sum of Five hundred pounds of lawful 
Money of Great Britain to my Nephew Thomas Vincent Son of my Brother 
John Vincent the Sum of two hundred pounds of like lawful Money of 
Great Britain to Patience Stevens of Wokeing aforesaid Widow  the Sum 
of One hundred pounds of like lawful Money to Elizabeth Stevens 
daughter of the said Patience Stevens the Sum of Five hundred pounds of 
like lawful Money to Thomas Stevens Son of the said Patience Stevens 
the Sum of three hundred pounds of like lawful Money and to John 
Robinson natural Child of my late Brother Thomas Vincent by Catherine 
Robinson Spinster deceased the Sum of one hundred pounds of like 
lawful Money all which said several legacies or Sums of Money it is my 
Will and Meaning shall be vested and transmissible Interests in the said 
Legatees respectively immediately on my decease altho the same are not 
to be paid till the time hereinbefore mentioned  And as to the residue of 
the Monies to arise from the Sale of my said Estates and the produce of 
my said Personal Estate if any after payment of my Debts and the 
Legacies hereinbefore mentioned together with my Funerall Expences 
and the Expences of proving this my Will  Upon Trust to pay and divide 
the same between my Brother John Vincent my said Sister Ann Capron 
my said Brother Peter my Niece Polly Living Wife of Charles Living and 
__________ Maitland the infant daughter of my late Niece Elizabeth 
Maitland equally to be divided between them share and share alike and 
to their respective Executors administrators and Assigns  And for the 
Facilitating the Sale of the said Freehold Copyhold and Leasehold Estates 
respectively herein before given and devised to my said Trustees I do 
hereby direct that the Receipt and receipts of them the said Peter Vincent 
and Edmund Vincent or of the  Survivor of them or of the Heirs Executors 
or Administrators of such Survivor under their his or her hands or hand 
respectively shall be from time to time a good and effectual discharge to 
the respective purchaser and purchasers thereof and his her and their 
respective Heirs Executors and Administrators of and for so much of the 
said purchase Money as in such receipt or receipts shall be expressed to 
be received and that such receipt or receipts shall be so given such 
purchaser and purchasers respectively shall be and he she and they shall 
by virtue thereof be absolutely acquitted and discharged of and from the 
same and shall not be answerable or accountable for the loss 
misapplication or non application of their respective Purchase Money or 
any part thereof  Also I give and devise unto James Stevens another Son 
of the said Patience Stevens  All that my Messuage Farm Lands and 
Hereditaments called Crastock Farm or by any other name or names 
whatsoever situate lying and being in the Parish of Wokeing aforesaid and 
now in the tenure or occupation of the said James Stevens  To hold to and 
for the use of the said James Stevens his Heirs and Assigns forever subject 
and Chargeable nevertheless to and with the payment of the sum of One 
hundred and Fifty pounds to Heremiah Hale a natural Child of Hannah 
Hale of Worplesdon in the said County of Surry Spinster at the expiration 
of twelve Calendar Months next after my decease  Also I give and devise 
to my said Nephew Edmund Vincent all that my Messuage Farm Lands 
and Hereditaments called or known by the name of Loam Pitts or by any 
other name or names whatsoever situate lying and being in the Parish of 
Wokeing aforesaid and now in my own possession and also all those my 
Lands situate lying and being in Sutton Broadmead in the Parish of 
Wokeing aforesaid and now also in my own possession To hold to and to 
the use of the said Edmund Vincent his Heirs and Assigns for ever subject 
nevertheless and Charged and Chargeable with the payment of one 
Annuity or Yearly Sum of twenty pounds which I hereby give and 
bequeath thereout to my Brother John Vincent for and during his natural 
life to be paid to him or his assigns by equal half yearly payments clear of 
all Deductions the first payment thereof to be paid at the end of six 
Calendar Months next after my decease and my Will is and I hereby 
declare that a proportionable part of the said Annuity of twenty pounds 
hereinbefore given and bequeathed to the said John Vincent shall be paid 
to his Executors or Administrators for or in respect of so much of the 
Current last year in which he may die or shall have happen at the time of 
his decease And my will further is that in Case the said Annuity or any 
part thereof shall be in arrear or unpaid for the space of thirty days after 
the same shall become due then and so often it shall and may be lawful 
for him the said John Vincent his Executors Administrators and Assigns to 
enter into and upon the said hereditaments and Premises so Charged 
therewith as aforesaid and to distrain for the same and to impound sell 
and dispose of the Distress and Distresses then and there found 
according to due Course of Law as in the Case of Distress taken for non 
payment of Rent reserved on Lease or Common Demise and also subject 
and Charged and I do hereby further subject and Charge all and singular 
the Messuage Farm Land and Hereditaments last hereinbefore given and 
devised to the said Edmund Vincent to and with the payment of the 
several Legacies or Sums of Money which I give and bequeath to the 
several Legatees hereinafter mentioned (Viz.t) to my Brother Peter 
Vincent the Sum of eight hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great 
Britain  to Peter Stevens another Son of the said Patience Stevens the 
Sum of Five hundred pounds of like lawful Money  to  __________ 
Maitland the infant daughter of my said late Niece Elizabeth Maitland the 
Sum of two hundred and Fifty pounds of like lawful Money and to my said 
Nephew Thomas Vincent the son of my said brother John Vincent the 
Sum of Four hundred pounds of like lawful Money all which said several 
Legacies last hereinbefore mentioned I will and direct shall be vested and 
transmissible Interests in the several Legatees aforesaid immediately on 
my decease and be paid to them respectively at such times and in such 
manner as in hereinafter mentioned but no Interest shall be paid or 
allowed on such Legacies until the same shall actually become payable  
Viz.t The Legacies of the said Peter Vincent Peter Stevens and Polly Living 
shall be paid to them respectively at the expiration of twelve Calendar 
months next after my decease  The Legacy of the said _________ 
Maitland shall at the time last above be paid into the hands of my said 
Trustees Peter Vincent and Edmund Vincent Upon such Trusts as are 
hereinafter mentioned and the Legacy of the Thomas Vincent shall be 
paid to him within six Calendar Months next after the decease of the said 
John Vincent his Father and as to for and concerning the said Legacy of 
two hundred and Fifty pounds directed to be paid into the hands of  my 
said Trustees as hereinbefore mentioned I do hereby declare that my will 
and intention to be and direct that they my said Trustees or the Survivor 
of them or his Executors or Administrators shall and do stand possessed 
thereof upon Trust to place out and invest the said sum of two hundred 
and Fifty pounds upon some Government or other Security in their names 
and call in and remove the same as often as they shall think proper and 
shall and do pay and apply the Dividends Interest and annual produce 
thereof from time to time as the same shall become due for or towards 
the Cloathing Maintenance and benefit of the said ________ Maitland in 
such manner as they my said Trustees shall think proper until the said 
__________ Maitland shall attain the age of twenty one years and when 
and so soon as she shall attain that age Upon Trust to pay the said Sum of 
two hundred and Fifty pounds or Assign the Security or Securities on 
which the same may be invested unto the said _______ Maitland to & for 
her own use and benefit provided always and I do hereby declare my will 
and intention to be that in Case the monies to arise from the estates 
hereinbefore given and devised to the said Peter Vincent and Edmund 
Vincent In Trust to be sold as aforesaid and the produce of my said 
Personal Estate should be insufficient to pay off and discharge all my 
Debts and the Legacies hereinbefore directed to be paid out of such 
Monies together with my Funeral Expences and the Expences of proving 
this my Will then I hereby Charge and make Chargeable all and singular 
The Messuage Farm Lands Tenements and Hereditaments hereinbefore 
given and devised to my said Nephew Edmund Vincent  to and with the 
payment of the deficiency provided also and my will and meaning further 
is  that they my said Trustees or the Survivor of them or the Heirs 
Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall not be answerable or 
accountable for any Trust Money further than each Person for what he or 
she shall respectively actually receive and not the one for the other  or 
others of them or for the Acts Receipts or defaults of the other or others 
of them but each of them for his and her own Acts Receipts and defaults 
only nor for any loss that may happen by Defect in Title or value of any 
Fund or Security in or upon which any Trust Money shall be placed out or 
invested or by Failure of any person or persons with whom any Trust 
Money shall be lodged nor for any involuntary loss whatsoever and that it 
shall and may be lawful to and for them and each of them to deduct 
retain pay and reimburse themselves himself and herself out of such 
Trust Money as hall come to their or any of their hands all Costs Charges 
Damages and Expences whatsoever which they any or either of them 
shall or may bear pay out sustain or be put unto in the Execution and 
Defence of the Trusts hereby in them reposed or in any wise relating 
thereto  And Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint the said Peter Stevens 
and Edmund Vincent Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former 
Wills by me made  In Testimony whereof I the said Edmund Vincent the 
Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in this and the 
four preceding sheets of paper to each set my hand and to this last sheet 
my Seal the eighth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight 
hundred and one.   Edmund Vincent Signed sealed published and declared 
by the said Edmund Vincent the Testator to be his last Will and Testament 
in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the 
presence of each other subscribe our names as Witnesses thereof  Jacob 
Coles  Robert Sharrock Dawson  Henry Woods.

This Will was proved at London the twentieth day of January in the Year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two before the Worshipful 
Samuel Pearce Parson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honourable 
Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or 
Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted 
by the Oaths of Peter Vincent the Brother and Edmund Vincent the 
Nephew of the deceased and the Executors named in the said Will to 
whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits 
of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to
