In the Name of God Amen I Richard Sayer of Wokeing in the County of Surry Yeoman do make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First and Principally I commend my Soul to God my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter appointed and as for and concerning my Worldly Estate I give and dispose of the same in manner following I give and bequeath unto my five first Cousins namely Sarah Poulton, Mary Fathers, Elizabeth Brooker otherwise Raymond Thomas Brooker and Foster Brooker the Sum of Twenty Pounds apiece to be paid them within six months next after my decease I give and bequeath unto John Bonsey Betty Bonsey Ann Bonsey and Richard Bonsey Sons and Daughters of my Cousin Richard Bonsey of Ockham in the County of Surrey Farmer the Sum of Twenty Pounds apiece to be paid them at their respective Ages of twenty one years I give and bequeath unto Betty Bonsey the wife of the said Richard Bonsey my Silver Tankard I give and bequeath unto my Servant Elizabeth Fenn the sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid her within six months next after my decease I give and bequeath unto my Cousin Ann Wikes the sum of twenty Pounds to be paid her within six months next after my decease and whereas I stand indebted to my Brother Edward Sayer in the Sum of two hundred pounds I do therefore hereby direct my Executor to pay the same within one Month next after my decease also I give and bequeath unto my said Brother Edward Sayers the Interest Dividends produce and proceed of six hundred pounds Bank Stock standing in my Name in the New four per cent Annuities for and during the term of his natural life and from and after his decease I give and bequeath the same Stock together with the Interest and Dividends that shall be due thereon unto Annah Arnell Wife of my Cousin John Arnell of London Citizen and Silversmith for her own use and benefit I give and bequeath unto Annah Arnell Thomas Arnell Edward Arnell and Amelia Louisa Arnell Sons and Daughters of my said Cousin John Arnell the Sum of twenty pounds apiece to be paid them at their respective Ages of twenty one years And in Case either of them should happen to depart this life before the age of twenty one Years at which time their respective Legacies become payable then I direct that the Legacy of him her or them so dying under age as aforesaid shall go to and be divided amongst the Survivors and Survivor of them and subject to the Payment of the said Legacies to the said Annah Arnell Thomas Arnell Edward Arnell and Amelia Louisa Arnell (I give and devise unto Richard Sayer Arnell Son of my said Cousin John Arnell all that my Messuage Farm and Lands situate lying and being in the Parish of West Clandon in the said County of Surrey and now in the tenure or occupation of Thomas Baker or his Assigns To hold to him the said Richard Sayer Arnell his Heirs and Assigns for ever) and as for and concerning all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate of every sort and kind after my just debts and Funeral Expences shall be thereout paid and satisfied I give and bequeath unto my said Cousin John Arnell whom I nominate constitute and appoint to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament In testimony whereof I the said Richard Sayer The Testator have hereto set my Hand and Seal the ninth day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two _ Rich.d Sayer _ Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Richard Sayer the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribe our Names as Witnesses thereof _ Ann Gibbs Richard Winter A Beauchamp. Memorandum the Erasures made in the ninth and tenth Lines on which the words "five and otherwise" are written were made before the Will was executed Ann Gibbs Richard Winter A Beauchamp This is a Codicil to be added to and taken as part of the last Will and Testament of me Richard Sayer of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Yeoman bearing date the ninth day of March which was in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two Whereas in and by my last Will I have given to my Servant Elizabeth Fenn the Sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid her within six Months next after my decease now I do hereby give to the said Elizabeth Fenn the further Sum of Fifty Pounds making together One hundred pounds to be paid within six Months next after my decease and Whereas I have by my said Will I given and devised unto Richard Sayer Arnell Son of my Cousin John Arnell my Messuage Farm and Lands in the Parish of West Clandon in the said County of Surrey To hold to the said Richard Sayer Arnell his Heirs and Assigns for ever Subject to the Payment of twenty pounds apiece his Brothers and Sisters Annah Arnell Thomas Arnell Edward Arnell and Amelia Louisa Arnell Now I do hereby revoke the charge by me made of the said Legacies on the said Messuage Farm and Lands And do give and devise the same Messuage and Lands unto the said Richard Sayer Arnell his Heirs and Assigns To hold to him the said Richard Sayer Arnell his Heirs and Assigns for ever discharged of the payment of the said Legacies and every of them but I give and bequeath unto the said Annah Arnell Thomas Arnell Edward Arnell and Amelia Louisa Arnell the sum of twenty pounds apiece to be paid them at their respective Ages of twenty one years out of my Personal Estate only And in case either of them should happen to depart this life before the age of twenty one Years at which time their respective Legacies become payable then I direct that the Legacy of him her or them so dying under age as aforesaid shall go to and be divided amongst the Survivors and Survivor of them And I give and bequeath unto Ann Coulton of Ockham Widow the sum of twenty pounds and to Betty Bonsey the Wife of the said Richard Bonsey the sum of ten pounds and I do appoint the said Richard Bonsey to be joint Executor of my said Will with the said John Arnell and with these alterations I ratify and confirm my said Will In testimony whereof I the said Richard Sayer have hereunto set my hand and Seal the eleventh day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty six _ Rich.d Sayer _ Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Richard Sayer as and for a Codicil to his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribe our Names as Witnesses thereof Sam.l Greenfield Mary Greenfield Jn.o Richards This Will was proved at London with a Codicil the second day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six before the Worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oaths of John Arnell the Executor named in the said Will and Richard Bonsey the Executor named in the said Codicil to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
