In the Name of God Amen I John Chitty of the parish of Horsell in the County of Surrey Yeoman do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament as followeth First I commend my Soul to the Mercies of God and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named And as to my Worldly Estate I give and dispose thereof as followeth First my will is that as soon as conveniently can be after my decease that there be an Inventory taken of all my Goods and Chattels and the money that is due to me to get in and then my Executors to pay out of the same my just Debts and Funeral Expenses and they for their time and Expenses in executing this my Will and then my Will is that my Executors do carry on my Farming Business in the best manner they can for the use and benefit of all my children until my youngest child attains to the Age of twenty one years they paying out of the same the Sum of two shillings a Week towards maintaining a Bastard Child of my Sons and they paying themselves reasonably for their time and Expenses for doing the same and my Will is when my youngest child have attained to the age of twenty one years that my Executors do sell by Public Sale all my said Personal Estate for the most money they can get for the same which Money after my Exors have been paid their reasonable Expenses I give to be equally divided between all my Children share and share alike and I hope my Executors will employ all my Children on my Farming Business as Servants so long as they behave themselves in a proper manner I give & bequeath unto Sarah by beloved Wife all the Goods that she brought with her I give and bequeath unto my said Wife the sum of ten pounds a year and every year for the term of her natural life to be paid her out of my Freehold Houses and Lands in Chobham to be paid her by even Quarterly payments and I charge my said Estates as above directed and from and after her decease I do will and ordain that my Executors or their executors do sell the said Houses and Lands by Public Sale to any Person or Persons for the most Money they can get for the same which Money after my Executors are reasonably paid I give to be equally divided between all my children share and share alike And my Will is if either of my Children should happen to die before their parts or shares become payable and have any children lawfully begotten Then such Child or Children to have their Fathers or Mothers parts that shall happen to die and I charge my Estates as above directed and I do nominate and appoint my Brother in Law Richard Fladgate and my Cousin Edward Chitty of Worplesdon Executors and Trustees to see and execute this my last Will and Testament faithfully In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal this sixteenth day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four.
