Relict of Richard HARRISON late of the same place Esquire my late husband deceased and being of sound and disposing mind understanding and considering the uncertainty of human life do make this my Last Will & Testament as follows / I give and bequeath to my niece Maria WHITE of Ripley the sum of Three hundred pounds in Bank [?] annuities left me by my sister the late Maria TAYLOR spinster I also give and bequeath to the said Maria WHITE all my linen and such furniture and [?] utensils of household as is or shall at the time of my decease be lawfully mine and I also give and bequeath to the said Maria White the following articles of silver plate viz Six tablespoons Fourteen teaspoons and one milk jug I also give and bequeath to the said Maria WHITE the sum of one hundred pounds sterling money clear of legacy duty for her sole and separate use independent of any husband she may now or hereafter have and for which her receipt or release of my said niece shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors and Executrix herein after named and appointed / I give and bequeath to Catherine BLAIR of Great Russell Street Bloomsbury in the County of Middlesex the wife of Doctor BLAIR the sum of one hundred pounds sterling money clear of legacy duty the same to be for her sole and separate use independent of any husband she may have now or hereafter have and for which the receipt or release of the said Catherine BLAIR shall be a sufficient discharge and my will and desire are that my Executor and Executrix should in the first place collect and get in all my estate and effects not hereinbefore or hereinafter specifically bequeathed and convert the same into money and therewith and with and such money shall be possessed of at the time of my decease pay and discharge all of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and within six months after my decease pay and satisfy the above mentioned legacies to my said niece and the said Catherine BLAIR and also several legacies next hereinafter mentioned and in case my said estate effects and money shall not after the payment in full of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses be sufficient to pay all the legacies hereinbefore thereinafter given by this my that is my will and desire that all and every of the said legacies shall [?] in equal proportions / I give and bequeath unto my trusty and faithful servant Ann BALLARD in case she shall be living with me at my decease all my wearing apparel and also the clear sum of One hundred pounds to be likewise for her sole separate use independent of any husband she may now or hereafter have and for which the receipt or release of the said Ann BALLARD shall be a sufficient discharge the said legacy to be paid to her without deducting legacy duty which is to be paid out of my estate / I give and bequeath unto my dear friend Mrs Charlotte GILL of Reading in the County of Berks Widow the sum of one hundred pounds also one silver coffee pot nine silver forks six of my best table silver spoons six of my best desert silver spoons six of my best silver tea spoons one gravy silver spoon and two silver sauce ladles the said legacy of one hundred pounds to the said Charlotte GILL to be paid clear of legacy duty / I give and bequeath unto my dear friend Hannah HODGKINSON of Reading in the said County of Berks the sum of one hundred pounds to be also paid clear of legacy duty for her sole and separate use irrespective of any husband she may have and for which the receipt of the said Hannah HODGKINSON shall be a sufficient discharge I also give and bequeath unto the said Hannah HODGKINSON the miniature of my dear husband set in gold and also my Trinkets of every kind except my Diamond ring and my Pearl Mourning Ring next hereinafter specifically the sum of one hundred pounds clear of legacy duty also two pairs of silver candle sticks six table spoons twelve dessert spoons one Marrow spoon six silver salt cellars six silver salt spoons one silver fish trowel one sugar silver sifter one silver pepper Ladle one silver one silver mustard ladle one silver wine strainer three silver wine labels one pair of sugar tongs one silver punch ladle one silver mustard pot and ladle one silver muffiner and silver souffl‚ stand one caddy shell one plated cruet stand one plated liquor stand four plated candlesticks four plated bedroom candlesticks and snuffers and it is my wish that if after the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the payment of the several precursory legacies and the duties thereon which shall be payable by virtue of this my will and after discharge or satisfaction of the several specific legacies also hereby given there shall be and remain any surplus or residue whatsoever of my estate and effects money or goods the whole of the said surplus or residue shall go to and become the property of them the said Thomas HODGKINSON and Hannah HODGKINSON in equal shares their his and her Executors Administrators and Assigns and I hereby nominate and appoint the said Thomas HODGKINSON and Hannah HODGKINSON the Executor and Executrix of this my Will and I do hereby revoke all wills at any time heretofore by me made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I the said Carolina HARRISON have to the my last Will and Testament contained in three sheets of
