In the name of God Amen the seventeenth day of September Ano Dmi 1687 and in the Third yeare of the Reigne of our gracious Sovereigne Lord King James the second &r I Humphrey Field the elder of Bisley in the Countie of Surrey Yeoman being very weake and sick in body but of good and perfect mind and memory (praise be given to god) doe make & ordayne this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following (that is to say) First & principally I commend & bequeath my Soule into the hands of allmighty god my Creatour & Redeemer hoping by the reconcilliacon of Jesus Christ to be saved only and my body to the Earth from whence it came to be Decently buried at the discretion of my Executrixe And as for my worldly estate I give & dispose of the same as followeth First my Will is that all Debts which I doe owe by Bond Bill promise or otherwise howsoever shall be duly paid by my Executrix hereafter named so far as it will reach and the remaynder out of my freehold land Item I devise give and bequeath unto my second son Humphrey all that part of an Inham or parcell of pasture land contayninge by Estimacon two acres more or lesse and allso two acres of arrable Land lying in a Comon Field called Westearsh & one other acre of arrable Land called crooked Acre lying & being in a Comon Field called Eastearsh lying & being in Chobham aforesd which lands I reserved out of my Kinsman Henry Attfeilds of Velley greene late deced to remayne & be to the sole use & behoofe of the sd Humphrey my son his Heires & assignes forever Item I give & bequeath unto the sd Humphrey my son one horse & one Cow Item I give & bequeath unto Henry my eldest son & to my Daughter Mary the wife of Thomas Humberstone Edward my son & to my Daughter Joane the Wife of Rowland Reed & to my Daughter Alice the wife of John Edmond & to my Daughter Ann the Wife of Thomas Smallpeece my sixe other Children One Shilling a peece to be paid unto each of them within three Months next after my decease And as for all the rest of my goods Chattells & Cattells not above given & bequeathed I give & bequeath unto Mary my beloved Wife whom I make & ordayne sole Executrix of this my last Will & testament she payeing my Debts & Legacies & Funeral expences In Wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale the day & yeare first above written (and so the Lord have mercy uppon me) Humfry Feild Signed sealed Pronounced published & declared by the sd Humphrey Field the elder to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of the marke of Robert R Davye Edward Goring Willm French Probatum fuit humoi Testum Humfredi Field Sen ?
