In the Name of God Amen the 6th day of July 1705 according to the Computation of the 
Church of England I William Hayward of Woking in the County of Surry yeoman being 
of perfect memory and remembrance praised be God  Do make and ordain this my last will 
and Testament in Manner and form following  First I bequeath my soul into the hands of 
Almighty God my Maker hoping that through the Merytorious Death and passion of Jesus 
Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins 
and as for my body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter 
Nominated  Item I give unto my Sonn in Law Joseph Roake five shillings to be paid within 
two years Next after my decease  Item I give unto my Daughter Mary the sum of forty 
pounds of Lawful English money to be paid within two years Next after my decease  Item I 
give unto my Daughter Ann the sum of forty pounds of Lawful English Money to be paid to 
her within fower years Next after my decease  Item I give unto my Daughter Charity the 
sum of forty pounds of Lawful English Money to be paid within six years Next after my 
decease Item I give unto my Sonn Peter the sum of forty pounds of Lawful English Money 
to be paid unto him within Eight years Next after my decease  Item I give unto my Daughter 
Damaris the sum of forty pounds of Lawful English Money to be paid unto her within Ten 
years Next after My Decease; my will and Meaning is that if Either of those fower Daughters 
& my Sonn Peter should happen to die before the time is Expired that they should Receive 
their above sd Legasies that his or her Legasie should be equally divided betweene the 
survivors  Item I give all my freehold Lands in Horsell and Pirford to Charity my beloved 
Wife untill my Sonn John shall attaine to the Age of Twenty Fower years  Item I give all my 
Freehold Message and Lands in Horsell and Pirford to my Sonn John to his Heires for Ever to 
enjoy it when he shall attaine to twenty fower years of Age and my will and meaning is that if 
my stock will not amount to pay all my Debts and Legasies that it shall be paid out of my 
Freehold Lands  I give unto my Sonn William five shillings to be paid within Six years after 
my decease out of my Freehold Lands  Item all the Rest of my goods and Chattells I give to 
My beloved Wife Charity and to my Sonn William Making them joynt Executors uppon 
Condition that they pay all my debts and legasies and funerall Charges soe far as the stock 
will amount to and I doe Request and apoint my Neybor William Collyer and my Sonn in 
Law Joseph Roake to be Overseers of this my Last will and Testament Revokeing all former 
wills and Testaments and I give them two shillings and six pence apeese for theire paines in 
wittness hearof I have hearunto sett to my hand and Seal.  William Hayward
