In the Name of God Amen
I Owen Manning clerk Vicar of Godalming in the County of Surry do make this my last Will 
and Testament in manner and form as followeth that is to say I die in the true faith and power 
of God in the firm beleif of  the Gospel revealed unto us by him through his Son Jesus Christ 
in a full assurance of  a sincere Resurrection of the dead and in the humble hope of eternal 
happiness on the terms of that Gospel only  As to my Body I desire that it may be buried in 
the Church Yard of the Parish in which I shall die and if this should happen to be at 
Godalming it is my desire to be buried at the further side of the Church Yard there north 
eastward with as much frugality as may be such that no Tomb Monument or Inscription be 
there or elsewhere erected or placed to my Memory  And whereas my eldest Son is already 
provided for without further provision or Estate from me I do therefore give devise and 
bequeath all and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their several 
Appurtenances wheresoever lying and being whereof I have any devising or disposing Power 
and all my Estate and Interest therein and thereto respectively and all and singular my 
Household Goods Furniture Plate Books Arrears of Rent and all and singular my Personal 
Estate of every kind and denomination whatsoever unto Katharine my most dear and beloved 
Wife and to her Heirs for ever wholely and solely to dispose of in such manner as she shall 
think best and most advisable  Item I do hereby appoint & authorise my beloved Wife 
aforesaid the sole Custodian of all such of my Children as shall at the time of my decease be 
under the age of twenty and one years  I do also hereby constitute and appoint my said Wife 
Katharine the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament most ???estly recommending 
unto her to advise herein and in every thing relating hereto with my good Friend and 
neighbours William Gill Esquire and Henry Streater Gill Esquire with whom I have lived 
many years in a sincere and uninterrupted Friendship and of whose readiness to be assistant 
to her herein I have from long experience of their goodness every reason to be ??????  In 
Testimony whereof and of every particular herein contained I the said Owen Manning have to 
this my last Will and Testament written with my own hand set my Hand and seal this 
nineteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty

Eashing aforesaid
This Will was proved at London on the sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one 
Thousand eight hundred and one before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight 
Doctor of Laws Master keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury 
lawfully constituted by the Oath of Katharine Manning Widow the Relict of the deceased and 
sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular 
the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission 
duly to administer.
