This is the last Will and Testament of me Timothy HILL  of Westminster Bridge ffoot Lambeth 
in the County of Surry ~ Ironmonger ~  which I make in manner following that is to say I desire 
to be buried in the vault with my late father in a plain and decent manner I give and bequeath 
unto my esteemed friend John HARBROW of Whitechapel in the County of Middlesex ~ 
Tallow Chandler ~ one of my executors hereinafter named the sum of fifty pounds which I hope 
he will accept as a token of my sincere regard for him and a small compensation for the trouble 
he will have in the execution of this my will I give and bequeath unto George KEENE of 
Lambeth ~ working smith ~ the sum of twenty five pounds and to Elizabeth BRADLEY  of 
Hampstead in the County of Middlesex ~ Widow ~ the sum of thirty pounds also I give and 
bequeath unto Joseph HILL  and William HILL two sons of my Uncle and partner Moses 
HILL and to each of them the sum of twenty pounds I give and bequeath the sum of one 
hundred and fifty pounds to Mary Ann HILL one of the daughters of Moses and  Mary HILL 
hereinafter named I also give and bequeath a mourning ring to each of the following persons 
viz my cousin Timothy HILL of Edgbaston  and his wife and my cousin Dan HILL  of Dudley 
and his wife and my cousins John PENNINGTON of the Strand and each of his four sisters I 
give and  bequeath to Mary FARMER  my female servant I give and bequeath unto the said 
John HARBROW all that my leasehold  mefsuage or tenement situate in Union Place Lambeth 
and being No 9 to hold the same to him his Exors and admons upon trust subject to the 
payment of the rent and performance of the covenants reserved and contained in the lease 
under which I hold the same to pay unto or permit and suffer  or sufficiently authorise  and 
empower my said Uncle and partner Moses HILL to receive and take the rents issue and profits 
thereof for and during the term of his natural life for his own use and benefit and from and 
immediately after his decease upon trust to pay into or authorise and empower permit and 
suffer Mercy HILL  the wife of the said Moses HILL  to receive and take the said rents issues 
and profits for and during the term of her natural life for her own sole and separate use and 
benefit independent of and not to be subject to the debts controul or engagements of any 
husband with whom she may hereafter intermarry but the receipt alone not withstanding such 
future marriage to be a sufficient discharge for the same and after the decease of the said 
Moses HILL and Mercy his wife upon trust to afsign transfer and pay the said Leasehold 
Mefsuage or Tenement and premises and the future rents issues and profits thereof unto such 
person or persons for such intents purposes and in such shares and proportions as the said 
Mary HILL shall at any time hereafter and not withstanding the present or any future coverture 
in and by her last Will and Testament in writing or any codicil there to or any writing in the 
nature of or pertaining to be by her last Will and Testament or a Codicil  thereto to be by her 
signed  and sealed in the presence of and attested by two or more credible witnesses shall give 
or bequeath direct limit or appoint the same and for want of such direction limit or appoint the 
same and for want of such direction limitation or appointment and as to so much and such part 
of the said Mefsuage or Tenement to which the same shall not extend upon trust to transfer 
and afsign the said Mefsuage or Tenement and premises due pay the rents ifsues and profits 
thereof to arise and accrue due from and after the decease of the survivor of them the said 
Moses HILL and Mary his wife or so much and such part thereof to which such direction 
limitation or appointment shall not extend unto the Administrator of the said Mary HILL to be 
applied and disposed of according to the Acts of Parliament for the distribution of the effect of 
persons dying intestate give and bequeath unto the said John HARBROW all that my 
Leasehold Mefsuage or Tenement situate in London Road Southwark and being No 37 to hold 
the same unto him John HARBROW his Exor's admons and afsigns upon Trust subject to the 
payment of the Rent  and performance of the covenants reserved and contained in the Lease 
under which I hold the same to pay unto or permit and suffer authorise and empower the said 
Mary HILL to receive and take the rents ifsues and profits thereof for and during the term of his 
natural life for his own use and benefit and from and immediately after his decease upon trust 
to pay unto or permit and suffer authorise and empower Mary Ann HILL daughter of the said 
Moses and Mary HILL and her afsigns to reserve and take the rents ifsues and profits thereof 
tor  and during the term of her natural life for her own sole and separate use and benefit 
independent of and not to be subject to the debts controul or engagements of any husband with 
whom she may hereafter intermarry but her Receipt alone not withstanding such coverture to 
be a good and sufficient discharge for the same and from and after the decease of the said 
Mary Ann HILL upon trust to afsign transfer and pay the said Leasehold Mefsuage or 
Tenements and premised and the Rents ifsues  and profits  thereof to arise and accrue due 
from and after the decease of the said Mary Ann HILL unto such persons or persons for such 
intents purposes and in such shares and proportions as the said Mary An HILL  shall at any 
time hereafter and not withstanding her coverture in and by her Last Will and Testament in 
writing or any Codicil thereto or in the nature of and purporting to be her last Will and 
Testament or a Codicil thereto to be by her signed and sealed in the presence of and attested 
by two or more credible witnesses shall give or bequeath direct limit or appoint the same and 
for want of such direction limitation or appointment  and as to and so much of the said last 
mentioned Mefsuage or Tenement and premises Rents issues and profits to which the same 
shall not extend upon trust to transfer and afsign the said Mefsuage or Tenement  and 
premises and pay the rents issues and profits thereof to accrue due from and after the decease 
of the said Mary Ann HILL  or so much and part thereof to which such direction limitation or 
appointment shall not extend unto the Administrator of the said Mary Ann HILL to be applied 
and disposed of according to the statutes made for the distribution of the effects of persons 
dying intestate I also give and bequeath unto the said John HARBROW all those my three 
Leasehold houses situate in Oakley Street Lambeth and also all that my Leasehold house 
situate in  Claphouse Street Vauxhall to hold the same unto him the said John HARBROW his 
Executors Admons and afsigns upon trust subject  to the payment of the respective rents and 
to the observance and performance of the covenants  reserved and contained in the respective 
Leases under which I hold the same premises to pay unto or well and sufficiently authorise and 
empower the said Moses HILL to receive and take rents ifsues and profits of the said last 
mentioned Leasehold Mefsuages or  Tenements and premises for and during the term of his 
natural life for his own use and benefit and from and after the decease of the said Moses HILL I 
give and bequeath the said last mentioned  four several Leashold Mefsuages or Tenements 
and premises and the Leases whereby the same are held and the Rents ifsues and profits  
thereof to arise and accrue due thereon from and after the decease of the said Moses HILL 
unto SOPHIA and SARAH HILL  two other daughters of the said Moses & Mary HILL in equal 
shares and proportions for their own respective use benefit and disposal but in case either of 
them the said Sophia and Sarah HILL shall die in the lifetime of the said Moses HILL then upon 
trust and I do hereby give and bequeath the said last four mentioned Leasehold Mefsuages or 
Tenements  rents ifsues and profits unto the survivor of them the whole of the said last 
mentioned four several Leasehold Mefsuages or Tenements for their  own use or benefit and in 
case both of them shall die in the lifetime of the said Moses HILL then I give and bequeath the 
said last mentioned four several Mefsuages or Tenements and premises unto the said Moses 
HILL to hold the same thenceforth to him his Exor's admons and afsigns for his and their own 
use and benefit  and as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects what so 
ever and where so ever I give and bequeath the same and any part thereof unto the said 
Moses HILL for his own absolute use benefit and disposal He paying and satisfying the court all 
my just debts and funeral expenses and the expenses and costs of proving this my will and 
also the several legacies herein before given and bequeathed and I direct and declare that it 
shall be lawful for the said John HARBROW his Executors and Admons to deduct and retain to 
and reimburse himself and themselves out of the said trust property all costs charges and 
expenses incurred by him or them in the execution of the aforesaid trusts or relative thereto 
and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said John HARBROW ~  Moses 
HILL ~ Executors of this my will and revoking and making all other wills by me heretofore made  
and I declare this writing contained in three sheets of paper to be my Last Will and Testament  
Witnessed wherefore I have at the bottom of each of the first two sheets hereof subscribed my 
name and to this third and last sheet hereof set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of 
September in the year of our Lord  1818 ~ Timothy Hill ~ SS ~ Signed sealed published and 
declared by the said Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who 
in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our 
names as Witness attesting the execution hereof this thirtieth day of September one thousand 
one hundred and eighteen the direction as to the funeral the legacies and £150 pounds to Mary 
Ann HILL and ten pounds to Mary FARMER being first interlined and of two other trifling 
alterations have been made and the name Moses interlined instead of Mary in the third line of
