In the name of God Amen 
I MOSES HILL  of Bridge Street in the Parish of Lambeth in the County of Surrey 
~Ironmonger~ being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and declare this to be 
my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I own and direct that all my just 
debts funeral expenses and charges of proving this my Will  be in the first fully paid and 
satisfied and after payment thereof and of every part thereof I give and bequeath to my sons 
Joseph HILL William HILL and Henry HILL  the whole every part of my business and debts 
they allowing to their mother Mercy HILL  money sufficient  out of the business to make up her 
income to £200 per annum and to their sisters Sophia and Sarah HILL  money out of the 
business sufficient to make their incomes up to £50 per annum each with the property that they 
will enjoy and I also give and bequeath to my wife Mary HILL the whole of my household goods 
and chattels and to my daughter Mary Ann HILL  I give and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds 
to be payable at my death I also give and bequeath to my wife Mary HILL two houses 
belonging to me in Smarts Fields in the parish of Lambeth in the county of Surrey for the whole 
of her life and to be left at her own disposal this I declare to be a correct account of what I 
should wish to have attended to at my death and I leave my two sons Joseph HILL and William 
HILL joint Executors of this my Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Testator have 
to this set my hand and seal this day of October the twenty eighth   in the year of our Lord 1823

Testament in the presence of his wife Mercy HILL and we who at his request have subscribed 
our names as Witnesses thereto George KEENE William CURTIS  Joseph HILL

And I further wish that my wife Mercy HILL shall become Executrix jointly with my sons Joseph  
and William HILL to this my Will and Testament

					27th April 1824
Appeared Joseph HILL of No 1 Bridge Street Lambeth in the County of Surrey Ironmonger and 
made oath that he is the son and one of the Exors named in the last Will and Testament hereto 
annexed of Moses HILL late of Bridge Street aforesaid Ironmonger deceased and referring to 
the said Will and particularly the Codicil or Memorandum written at the foot or bottom thereof 
who in the words following to wit  "and I further wish that my wife Mercy Hill shall become 
Executrix jointly with my sons Joseph and William Hill to this my Will and Testament" this 
Deponent further make oath that he was the writer of the said will and was present when the 
same was executed by the said deceased to wit on the 28th day of October in the year 1823 
that on the same and immediately after the said will had been so executed the deceased 
desired that his wife should be appointed Executrix of his Will jointly with him the Deponent and 
William Hill the deponents brother and he the said Deponent accordingly and in the presence of 
the said deceased wrote the aforesaid codicil or memorandum at the foot or bottom of the said 
Will and he lastly made oath that the said Will and Codicil or Memorandum thereto are now in 
the same plight and condition as when executed by the said deceased and written by him the 
deponent as aforesaid Joseph Hill  [? ?] said Joseph Hill was duly sworn to the truth of this

PROVED at London with a codicil the 29th April 1824 before the Worshipful John Trenchard 
Pickard  Dr of Laws  and Surrogate by the oath of Joseph Hill & William Hill the sons the 
executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to admin pwer reserved to 
Mercy Hill Widow the relict the Extrix.
