In the Name of God Amen the fourth day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred and fiftie and five I John Stillwell of Dorking in the Countie of Surrey yeoman being sicke in Bodie but in perfect Memorie prayse be God therefor Doe make and ordane this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following ffirst and principallie I comend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Maker and Creatour And my Bodie to the Earth from whence it came to be buried in the Churche yard of Dorking att the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named Item I give to the poor people of Dorking aforesaid twentie Shillings to paied unto them att the discretion and appointment of my Executrix likewise hereafter named Item I give and bequeathe unto Joan Rownd my daughter now Wife of Edward Rownd five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paied unto the said Joane my daughter within six monthes next after my decease Item I give and bequeathe unto the foure children of the said Joane Rownd That is to say Edward John Marye and James Rownd my Grandchildren tenne pounds a peece to be paied unto them and everie or either of them when they shall accomplishe theire Age of one and twentie yeares or upon the Day of theire Marriage the which of them ....times shall first happen and come And if either of them shall happen to die before they shall accomplishe theire severall Ages of one and twenty yeares or daie of Marriage That then the portion & Portions of him shee or them soe dyeing shall be paied unto the Survivor or Survivors of them living to be equally devided betweene them before they shall accomplishe theire severall Ages of one and twenty yeares or daie of Marriage Item I give and bequeathe unto Jane Wood my daughter five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paied unto the said Jane my daughter within six monthes next after my decease Item I give and bequeathe unto the foure Children of the said Jane Wood my daughter my Grandchildren That is to saie Nathaniell John Jane and Hannah Wood five pounds apeece of lawfull money of England to be paied unto them and everie or either of them when they every and either of them shall accomplishe theire Age of one and twentie yeares or upon the Daie of theire Marriage the which of those times shall first happen and come And if either of them shall happen to die before they shall accomplishe theire severall Ages of one and twenty yeares or daie of Marriage then I will the portion & portions of him shee or them soe dyeing shall be paied unto the Survivor or Survivors of them living to be equally devided betweene them Item I give and bequeathe unto Mary Hoton my daughter five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paied unto the said Mary my daughter within six monthes next after my decease Item I give and bequeathe unto the child of the said Mary Hoton five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paied unto the said Child of the said Mary my daughter when shee shall accomplishe her age of one and twentie yeares or daie of her marryage which shall first happen and come Item I give to John Nettlefold my Servant foure pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Abraham Nettlefold my Servant three pounds I give to William Dudley my servant ffortie shillinges to be paied unto the said three servants within one yeare next after my decease And my will is that the said servants Shall continue their service unto my wfe after my decease And be dutifull and helpfull unto her in and about my ffarme All the rest of my Goods Cattles and Chattles unbequeathed and not before given my Debts being paied and discharged I give and bequeathe unto Joane my loving wife which Joane my wife I make ordaine and appoint Sole and whole Executrix of this my last will and Testament and shee to take my debts and paie my debts and Legacies and performe this my last will as my trust is in her soe shee will Alsoe I nominate and appoint Edward Rownd my sonn in lawe Bowcombe Overseers to this my last Will desiring tham to be aydeing and assisting the said Executrix in the due Execution hereof In witness whereof I the said John Stillwell have hereunto sett my hand and seale the daie and yeare first above written John Stillwell Richard Constable William Maryesson Proved 19 June 1655 PCC Prob11/248
