Mary Collins PROB 11/1017 Written 18 November 1769 Proved 2 March 1776 In The Name of God Amen I Mary Collins of Richmond in the county of Surrey Widow do make this my last will and Testament in manner following First I will that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann the wife of Samuel Ward of Richmond aforesaid ? my Silver Tea Kettle and lamp and my Silver Candlesticks ?I give and bequeath unto my son the Reverend William Collins the sum of four hundred pounds which sum of four Hundred pounds my will is that my executors and trustees hereafter ? raise upon and out of my copyhold estate which I hereby charge the same with I further give unto my said son William Collins my large Silver Salver or Waiter and my largest Silver Punch Bowl ? I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Collins of Paternoster Row London Bookseller one Silver Pint mug and one half pint Ditto ? I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sophia all rest and residue of my Plate and China and all my Linen Then? I give and bequeath unto my said son Robert Collins and my Daughter Sophia all other my household furniture whatsoever to be divided equally and share and share alike between them And whereas I am possessed of diverse Copyhold premises in Richmond aforesaid which I have surrended to the use of and to such tenants and purposes as I should by my last will and testament direct ? and appoint now my will is and I do hereby give devise and bequeath all my said copyhold premises in Richmond aforesaid unto my son Robert Collins, my son in law Samuel Ward aforesaid and my Nephew Edward Collins Of Richmond aforesaid Brewer In trust that after payment of the four hundred pounds before mentioned unto my son William Collins they should receive? the Rents issues and profits thereof and shall pay over the said/same unto my daughter Sophia Collins during such time as she shall of and continue unmarried But in case my said daughter Sophia Collins shall hereafter Marry then and in such case my will Is that my said executors and trustees shall sell my said ?copyhold estate to the best advantage and out of the monies arising from such sale of my said copyhold estate shall pay unto my said daughter the sum of one thousand pounds as and for her marriage portion and like wise the further sum of one hundred pounds for Cloathes? and my said Daughter Sophia use receipt? alout? shall be a sufficient discharge to my said executors and trustee And my further will is that if any surplus shall remain from such sale of my said copyhold estate after payment of the said sum of one thousand pounds and one hundred pounds to my said daughter Sophia , my will is that such surplus shall be divided and paid by my said executors and trustees equally and share and share alike between my said two sons William and Robert and my said two daughters Ann and Sophia or their respective heirs. But in case my said daughter shall not marry at all then my further will and meaning is that after the decease of my said daughter Sophia my said copyhold estate shall be sold to the best advantage and the monies arising by and from such sale of my said copyhold estate shall be divided equally and share and share alike between my said two sons William and Robert and my daughter Ann or their heirs and in case any Child or Children of my said sons or daughters Shall be entitled to any such share or shares in such case such child or children receipt though under the age of twenty one years shall be a sufficient discharge for the same Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute? and appoint my said son Robert Collins my son in law Samuel Ward and my said Nephew Edward Collins executors and trustees of this my last Will and testament in witness whereof I the said Mary Collins have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of November in the year of or lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine Mary Collins Signed sealed published and declared by the said Mary Collins the testatrix to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence and at the request of the said Mary Collins the testatrix and in the presence of each other ././. Edwd O/C/Gram Robt Watts This will was proved at London the twenty Second day of march in the year of our lord one thousand Seven hundred and seventy six before the worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws and surrogate of the Right Worshipful Sir George Hay, Knight also doctor of laws master keeper or commissary of the prerogative court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of Robert Collins the son ------ Samuel Ward , and Edward Collins the nephew of the deceased and executors named in the said will to which administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased they having been first sworn duly to administer.
