In the name of God Amen I James Stedman of the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surrey Yeoman being in good health of Body and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) I will that all such debts as I shall justly owe at the time of my decease and my funeral and testamentary charges and expenses be in the first place paid by my Executor hereinafter named And as to my estate both real and personal I dispose this of in manner following that is to say first I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister Mary the wife of Richard Hodd and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life an annuity or clear yearly sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain free of all taxes and other deductions Parliamentary or otherwise to be paid and payable … and equal quarterly payments at and upon the feast days of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Saint John the Baptist Saint Michael the Archangel and the Birth of our Lord Christ in … and every year the first payment thereof to be made on such of the Saint Feast days as shall first and next happen after my decease and from and immediately after the decease of my said Sister Mary then I give and bequeath unto my niece Sarah the daughter of my said Sister Mary her executors and administrators the sun of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth the wife of Joseph Chandler and her assigns for and during the term of her natural Life an annuity or clear Yearly Sum of ten pounds eight shillings of lawful money free of all taxes and other deductions Parliamentary or otherwise to be paid to her weekly at the rate of four shillings a week and her receipt shall be sufficient as discharge for the same and from and immediately after the decease of my said Sister Elizabeth I give and bequeath unto my nephews James Chandler and Henry Chandler and my niece Sarah Chandler the sum of one hundred pounds apiece of like lawful money and to their Executors Administrators and assigns respectively All the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be and which I shall or may be seized possessed of or entitled unto at the time of my decease (Subject nevertheless to the payment of my ??? annuities legacies funeral testamentary expenses I give devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my nephew William Chandler his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Nephew William Chandler sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by in at any time heretobefore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said James Steadman have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand either hundred and six Signed James Stedman Signed sealed published and declared by the above named James Steadman as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto John Mears, Windlesham, Surrey Gent Edward Burchett of the same place Bricklayer John Mears Junior of the same place This Will was proved at London on the first day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eight before the Worshipful Samuel ??? Parson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynn Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of William Chandler the Nephew of the deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased he having been first sworn duly to administer.
