In the name of God Amen I Henry Stedman of Woking in the County of Surrey Husbandman considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in mannor and form following (that is to say) First I bequeath my soul into the hand of Almighty God hoping by the reconciliation made by my blessed saviour Jesus Christ to receive pardon for all my sins and my body to be buried at the discretion of my executor. I give and devise to my eldest son Henry Stedman all that my copyhold messuages or tenement with all the buildings farm lands and premises to the same belonging situate lying and being in the Tything of Goldworth in the Parish of Woking aforesaid and now in the occupation of my son Richard Stedman to have and to hold the said premises with their appurtenances unto my said son Henry Stedman his heirs and assigns for ever upon this condition nevertheless that he my said eldest son Henry or his heirs or assigns shall pay or cause to be paid ….. and …. Out of the above devised Messuages lands and premises to my two sons John Stedman and Richard Stedman and also to my two daughters Ann Stedman and Elizabeth the wife of John Briant the sum of twenty pounds apiece of good and lawfull money within two years after my decease and also to pay all money as shall then be due and owing upon the said premises and in case my said son Richard at my decease do live in and occupy the above premises my will is that he shall hold the same at the usual rent he payed to me and shall not be obliged to quit or leave the said premises unto two whole years shall be expired and fully compleate and ended from the Michaelmas after my decease I also give my said daughter Ann Stedman my best bed and all the furniture to the same belonging and also the bedstead and one pair of good sheets and as to all the rest of my personal estate goods & Chattles after my just debts are paid (except the money on surrender) Funeral expenses & charges of administration are paid out of the same I give my three sons and two daughters as herein above named to be equally divided between them share alike and to prevent disputes I desire my goods may be sold and share the money.
