This is the last Will and Testament of me James Stedman of Woking in the County of Surrey Yeoman First I direct all my just debts funeral and Testementry charges and expences to be paid and discharged by my Executrix and Executors as soon as may be after my decease I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah Stedman the Sum of One Hundred and Fifty pounds Sterling to be paid to hur within one month next after my decease I also give and bequeath unto my said Wife Sarah Stedman for hur life or widowhood the use and wear of the household goods and furniture that shall be in about or belonging to my dwelling house at the time of my decease and after hur decease or marriage again I direct that the said household goods and furniture shall sink into the residue of my personal Estate and be disposed of accordingly I give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Sarah Stedman and my Son David Stedman and William Ross of Woking aforesaid Schoolmaster all my messuages and real Estate and also all and singular the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate property and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever whether in possession reversion expectancy or otherwise howsoever To hold the same according to the nature and tenure theirof respectively unto my said wife Sarah Stedman and the said David Stedman and William Ross their heir Executors administrators and assigns upon Trust to pay and apply or otherwise permit and suffer my said Wife Sarah to receive and take the rents issues and profits and annual produce theirof from time to time as the same shall become due and received for and during hur life if she shall so long continue my widow and unmarried but not otherwise And upon hur death or marriage again Upon Trust to pay the sum of Ten Pounds sterling unto my Son James Stedman and the sum of Two hundred pounds to my daughter Ann the wife of Philip Thomas of Woolich in the County of Kent Farrier to invest the further Sum of Two Hundred pounds in the public funds or good Government or real Securities and permit and to suffer the dividends and annual produce theirof to be received by my daughter (for and at hur own disposal) Mary the wife of George Chapman of West Horsley in the County of Surrey Farmer during the life of hur said husband and after his decease to pay or transfer the principal Sum to my said daughter Mary Chapman And I direct that the three several Legacies lastly hereinbefore mentioned shall be paid at the expiration of twelve Calendar months after my decease or the marriage again of my said Wife But if my Son James or either of my daughters shall happen to dye this Will and meaning is that such issue shall take the same Legacy as such deceased Son or daughter would have taken if living but if any of them shall die without lawful issue then my will is that the Legacy of such Son or Daughter so dieing without lawful issue shall and be paid to my surviving Children And if my said Son David Stedman shall die in my lifetime or in the lifetime of my said Wife without lawful issue then and in such case I do hereby give devise and bequeath the whole of my Messuages or tenements farms land and real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Two Daughters Mary Chapman and Ann Thomas their heirs executors and administrators and assigns absolutely and for ever as Tenants in common and not as joint tenants And all the rest residue and remainder of my said real and personal Estate and Effects not herein before disposed of I give devise and bequeath after the death or marriage again of my said Wife unto and to the use of my said Son David Stedman his heirs and assigns for ever And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Sarah Stedman my Son David Stedman and the said William Ross to be executors of this my will and hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heartofore made I declare this to be my last Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand This twenty Deceased) and William Ross the Executrix and Executors named in the above Will were duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance of the same and as usual and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the sum of Six hundred pounds and that the deceased died on the twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty seven Before me John Richards Surrogate The Testator James Stedman was late of Woking in the County of Surrey Yeoman This Will of James Stedman late of Woking in the County of Surry Yeoman deceased was proved on the thirtieth day of October 1847 before the Reverend John Richards clerk a Surrogate by the oaths of Sarah Stedman widow the relict David Stedman the Son of the deceased and William Ross the Executors to whom administration was granted they having been first sworn duly to administer
