Will of Mary VENESS widow of Cobham Proved 2 June 1824 PROB 11/1687 In the name of God Amen I Mary VENESS of the Parish of Cobham in the County of Surrey widow being of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do this twenty second day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I commend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping for a remission of all my sins and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the direction of my Executor hereinafter named and as to my worldly estate whatsoever and wheresoever where with it has pleased God to bless me being all personal I give devise and bequeath the same after payment of any funeral expenses the expense of proving this Will and all my just debts and as hereinafter mentioned And whereas there is a legacy of two hundred pounds left me by Will of my brother in Law James STOUT to be paid me within twelve months after the decease of my sister Elizabeth STOUT but if it should happen that she should outlive me I give and bequeath the said sum of two hundred pounds to be equally divided amongst my six sons Richard VENESS, John VENESS, Thomas VENESS, David VENESS, Moses VENESS and Aaron VENESS And I also give and bequeath what property I may die possessed of to be equally divided amongst them after payment of the aforementioned funeral expenses my just debts and proving this my Will but should it so happen that the before mentioned legacy cannot be divided among the whole but will become the property of the said Moses and Aaron my Will is that what property I shall die possessed of shall then be equally divided amongst my four sons the before mentioned Richard, John, Thomas and David and whereas there is a debt of thirty seven pounds due from my son Thomas VENESS to my son John VENESS my Will is that if the above debt of thirty seven pounds is not paid before the time of dividing the property left by me and which my will is shall be done six months after my decease that then the said debt of thirty seven pounds shall be paid to the said son John out of the share of the said Thomas together with all lawful interest that may become due thereon should it happen that any of my said sons should die before the dividing my property my Will is that their share be paid to their heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns I give and bequeath to my son Aaron VENESS a feather bed bolster and pillow and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said son Aaron VENESS whole and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time herebefore made.
