Will of David Veness of Sanderstead, Surrey Proved 15 June 1841 PROB 11/1948 This is the last Will and Testament of me David VENESS of Sanderstead in the County of Surrey, Smith I give that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be fully paid and satisfied as soon after my decease as conveniently may be I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Ann VENESS all those my two copyhold cottages with the appurtenances situate and being in Ewell in the said County of Surrey and now in the occupation of Thomas STAKER and his undertenant and all other my property or stock in trade debts monies estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate and being with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances to hold the same unto the use of my said wife her heirs Executors Administrators and assigns according to the respective natures thereof absolutely the better to enable her to bring up educate and maintain my children but in case my wife shall die in my lifetime then I give and devise all my property unto between and amongst all my children as tenants in common and to their respective heirs executors administrators and assigns the issue of any of my children who shall be dead leaving issue to take their deceased parents shares respectively and the estate or interest of either children or grandchildren is not to vest until the age of twenty one years but my Executors are to be at full liberty to make advances out of or to apply the whole of the presumptive shares of any such children or grandchildren during minority for maintenance advancement or support as they or the survivor of them shall think fit and proper and I appoint William HOLMER and Henry SHEPHERD both of Union Street, Southwark ironmonger Executors of this my last Will and I direct that my Executors hereby appointed shall not be answerable the one for the other of them nor for involuntary lapses nor for money received under receipts in which they shall join only for conformity and that they shall and may reimburse themselves and each other out of monies that may come to their hands by virtue of this my last Will all costs and expenses to be incurred by them in the exertion hereof or anywise in relation thereto and I revoke all former Wills by me at any time heretobefore made and declare this to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of September 1837 David VENESS signed sealed published and declared by the said David VENESS the testator as and for this last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Geo.
