The last Will and Testament of me Thomas Stevens of Wokeing in the County of Surry Mercer I desire to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as to my Worldly Estate I dispose thereof as follows Whereas One hundred and Fifty pounds part of my Wife's portion still remains in the hands of her Father unpaid to me according to his agreement This Sum of One hundred and Fifty pounds I give to my dear and loving Wife And Whereas before our Intermarriage I settled on my said Wife my Freehold Messuage and Lands with the Appurtenances called Shaplerp at or near Sithewood in Horsell in the said County and the Tythes therefrom coming growing arising renewing or increasing to come grow arise renew or increase for her life with remainder to my own right Heirs And I have also Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the Manor of Woking in consequence of an agreement made before my Marriage all those my several Copyhold Lands in the Tything of Goldworth and held of the said Manor to the use of my self for life with remainder to my said Wife for life with remainder to such uses as I shall direct by my last Will and Testament in Writing And in Consequence of the said agreement before my Marriage I have likewise Surrendered into the hands of the Lady of the Manor of Sutton my Copyhold Messuage and Lands called Crouches held of the said Manor of Sutton To the very same uses as I have Surrendered my Copyhold Lands held of the Manor of Woking Now I do by this my last Will and Testament confirm to my said Wife the said Several Copyhold premises so as aforesaid settled upon her and Surrendered as agreed to Be Surrendered to her use for her life And after her decease I devise the same to the Heirs of my Body lawfully Begotten and in default of such Issue As for and concerning my said Freehold Estate in Horsell and my said Copyhold Lands held of the Manor of Woking I devise the same to my Nephew John Howard younger Son of my Brother in Law Thomas Howard by his late Wife my late Sister and to his heirs and Assigns And As for and concerning my Copyhold Messuage and Lands held of the Mannor of Sutton I do in case of failure of Issue of my Body devise the same to my Nephew Thomas Howard Eldest Son of my said Brother in Law Thomas Howard by my said Sister and to his Heirs and assigns And Whereas my late sister Elizabeth the said late Wife of my said Brother in Law Thomas Howard held of the Lord of the Manor of Woking for her life with remainder to the right Heirs of my late Father James Stevens deceased a Messuage with the Appurtenances in Town Street in Woking called the Market House so that upon her Death the same descended and came to me as next Heir of my said late Father and to which premises I have not yet been admitted But as I understand the same will fall to the said Eldest Son of my said Sister Howard in case of failure of Issue of my Body as my next heir I make no disposition thereof it being my desire it should so fall accordingly And as for and concerning my personal Estate I give and devise the same to my dear Mother Dorothy Stevens she paying thereout my debts and Funeral Expenses And in case I shall after this time and before my decease have received from my said Father in Law the said One hundred and Fifty pounds so?? aforesaid given to her my said Wife Then It's my Will that the said One hundred and Fifty pounds shall also be paid out of my personal Estate I make my said Mother Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament And in Testimony thereof I have thereunto set my hand and seal the Twenty Fifth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Sixty Thos Stevens Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Testator Thomas Stevens as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto Subscribed our names as Witnesses Wm Morris, Henry Randall_____J Chatfield This Will of Thomas Stevens late of the Parish of Wokeing in the County of Surry deceased was proved on the Eleventh day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty before the Reverend Cornelius Jeale Clerk a Surrogate by the Oath of Dorothy Stevens the Mother and Sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted she being first sworn faithfully to Administer /----
