This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Brain 
of Middleton Cheney in the County of Oxford 
Yeoman First I give and devise unto my Wife Sarah 
Brain All those my Cottages or Tenements formerly in 
one with the Orchard or Gardens Backsides and 
Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in 
Middleton Cheney aforesaid and now in the tenure or 
occupation of Henry Morgan and in my own possession 
To have and to hold the same unto my said Wife Sarah 
Brain and to her assigns for and during the term of her 
natural life she keeping the said Cottages or Tenements 
and Premises in reasonable and tenantable repair And 
from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife I 
give and devise my said Cottages or Tenements and 
Premises Orchard or Gardens Backsides with the 
Appurtenances unto my sons Richard Brain William 
Brain and Anthony Brain and daughter Elizabeth 
Brain as Tenants in common and not as joint tenants and 
their respective heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and 
bequeath unto my said Wife Sarah Brain all my household 
Goods and Furniture and Implements of Household Linen 
and Woollen Chattells and Personal estate whatsoever and 
wheresoever at the time of my decease for her to have ... 
possess and enjoy the same to and for her own use and 
benefit for and during the term of her natural life And 
from and immediately after her decease I give and 
bequeath the same unto my said sons Richard Brain 
William Brain and Anthony Brain and Daughter Elizabeth 
Brain And lastly I do hereby make nominate and appoint 
my said Wife Sarah Brain and sons William Brain and 
Anthony Brain Executrix and Executors of this my said last 
Will and Testament In testimony whereof I the said 
Thomas Brain have hereunto set my hand and seal this 
seventeenth day of April in the Year of our Lord One
