The last Will and Testament of me Susanna Hitchman of 
Swerford in the County of Oxford Spinster first I direct that all 
my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be paid by my 
Executor hereinafter named out of my personal estate I give to my 
second Cousin Mary Walford wife of James Walford of 
Hooknorton my largest gold ring I give to my servant Elizabeth 
King my smallest gold ring and my other gold ring I give to my 
second Cousin Susanna Irons and all my wearing apparel I give 
equally between the said Mary Walford Susanna Irons and Elizabeth 
King and all the rest residue and remainder of my monies Goods 
Chattels personal estate and effects of what nature kind or sort 
soever I give and bequeath unto my brother Samuel Hitchman 
for and during the term of his natural life and from and immediately 
after his decease I give and dispose of the same as follows I give 
and bequeath unto my second Cousin Ann Irons the sum of one 
hundred pounds also I give and bequeath unto my second Cousin 
the said Mary Walford the sum of two hundred pounds also I give 
and bequeath unto my second Cousin the said Susanna Irons the 
sum of one hundred pounds Also I give and bequeath unto my 
second Cousins Anthony Cosier and Sarah ffield the sum of 
fifty pounds each also I give and bequeath unto my second Cousin 
Ann Harris the sum of thirty pounds also I give and bequeath unto 
my Servant the said Elizabeth King the sum of one hundred pounds 
and what shall then remain of the residue of my said monies goods 
Chattels personal estate and effects I give and bequeath the same 
and every part thereof unto my servant the said Elizabeth King to 
and for her own use and benefit and which said legacies I direct 
shall be paid and delivered to the respective legatees within six 
months next after the decease of my said brother I give and devise 
the said two Cottages or Tenements with the appurtenances 
thereunto respectively adjoining and belonging unto John Walford 
son of my second Cousin the said Mary Walford and to his heirs and 
assigns for ever provided always that if any loss shall happen in the 
monies or if the same shall not be sufficient to pay the whole of the 
legacies hereinbefore bequeathed then I direct that each legatee 
shall bear a proportion of such loss or deficiency rateably and in 
proportion to his or her legacy and lastly I do hereby nominate and 
appoint my said brother Samuel Hitchman sole Executor of this my 
last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills 
by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said 
Susanna Hitchman have here unto set my hand and seal the fourth 
day of ffebruary one thousand eight hundred and twenty six
