In the Name of God Amen I George James of the parish of Saint Clements otherwise 
Bridge? cabinetmaker being of sound mind memory and understanding praised be 
Almighty God for the same do hereby ordain this to be my last Will and Testament to 
be in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I recommend my 
soul to God who gave it me and my Body to the Earth to be decently interr?d at the 
discretion of my Executor hereinafter mentioned and as to my Worldly Effects which 
it hath pleased God to bless me with after my Just Debts and funeral Expences are 
fully paid and satisfied I dispose of the same as followeth Namely I give and 
bequeath unto Sarah Hobly Ann King Peter Constable Mary Pringle Martha Stevens 
and the three Children of my Nephew William James that is to say Elizabeth James 
Ann James and William James after the Legacy hereinafter bequeathed be fully paid 
and satisfied All my Goods Chattells and Credits of what nature or kind soever the 
same may be and wheresoever that I may be possessed of at the time of my 
decease or any wise intitled unto Also I give to Mary Harding my Servant and who 
now liveth with me the sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid 
unto her by my Executors hereinafter named within twelve months next after my 
decease Also I give and bequeath unto the said Mary Harding the Bed she lieth on 
with the ffurniture belonging to the same and I do hereby charge All my Goods 
Chattells and Credits whatsoever with the payment of the above Legacy And my Will 
is that my Executors hereinafter named shall immediately after my Decease take and 
Inventory of all my said Goods Chattells and Credits of what nature or kind soever 
the same may be and cause them to be appraised and sold to the best Advantage 
and the money arising therefrom and from all other my Property after the Legacy 
being paid as aforesaid may be equally divided among the said Sarah Hobly Ann 
King Peter Constable Mary Pringle Martha Stevens Elizabeth James Ann James and 
William James Share and share alike and that such Share and Shares shall be paid 
to them within twelve months next after my decease by my Executors hereinafter 
mentioned but if either of them shall happen to die then my Will is that the share or 
shares of him or her so dying shall go to the Survivor or Survivors to be equally 
divided amongst them share and share alike And Lastly I do hereby nominate 
constitute and appoint John Constable and Charles Hobley Joint Executors of this to 
be my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking and making void all former and 
other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said 
George James the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament in writing set my 
hand and Seal this sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand 
seven hundred and seventy seven Geo: James
