The last Will and Testament of me Joannah Harris of 
Southrop in the parish of Hooknorton in the County of 
Oxford Widow being of sound Mind and understanding First 
of all I Will that all my Debts Legacies and Funeral 
Expences be fully paid and discharged by my Executors 
herein after mentioned Also I give devise and bequeath 
unto my son James Harris All that my Messuage or Tenement 
in which I now inhabit and dwell together with its 
Appurtenances situate in Southrop aforesaid in the 
Occupation of my Son in Law Thomas Radburn (which said 
Messuage and Cottage with their Appurtenances I purchased 
from my Kinsman Thomas Minchin) To have and to hold the 
said Messuage and Cottage with their Appurtenances unto 
my Son James Harris and to his Heirs for ever subject 
nevertheless to these Conditions following (Viz) that he 
or his Heirs do pay or Cause to be paid to my Son Thomas 
Harris the Sum of seventy one Pounds and I do charge all 
that my Messuage or Tenement with all and singular its 
Appurtenances in which I now dwell with the payment 
thereof and also that he do permit and suffer my Daughter 
Joanna to occupy possess and enjoy my aforesaid Cottage 
or Tenement with its Appurtenances during the Term of her 
natural life she keeping the same in repair during the 
said Term Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Son 
James Harris all that my Messuage or Tenement Malthouse 
and Appurtenances situate in that part of Hooknorton 
called Scotland (all which I purchased of and from 
William Jenson and Simon Jenson) to have and to hold the 
same unto my Son James Harris and to his Heirs for ever 
subject nevertheless to this condition that he or his 
Heirs do pay or cause to be paid to John Harris Four 
Pounds nine Shillings and to my Daughter Jane Harris 
thirteen pounds and to my daughter Sarah Day Four Pounds 
and to my daughter Joanna Radburn Four Pounds nine 
shillings and to my Kinsman Thomas Minchin four pounds 
nine shillings and to my Kinsman Fream Minchin .... 
pounds seventeen shillings and I do charge all that my 
Messuage or Tenement Close and all and singular the 
Appurtenances belonging thereunto~~~~with the payment 
thereof Also I give and devise unto my....two seventh 
parts of my Household Goods and all the rest of my 
Household Goods I divide between my Sons William John and 
Thomas and my Daughter Jane and ...share and share alike 
lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son James 
Executor of this my Will hereby revoking disannulling and 
making void all former and other Wills by me at any time 
heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
Hand and Seal this seventeenth day of April 17...Joanna
