This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Barns of Hook Norton in the County of 
Oxford Yeoman being of a sound Mind Memory and Understanding Whereas by Virtue of 
one Bond or Obligation by me given I bound myself my heirs Executors and Administrators 
for the payment of One hundred and sixty pounds of good and Lawfull money of Great 
Britain to be paid within one year next after my decease Relation being thereunto had it any 
more fully and at large appear and I do hereby ratify and confirm the same And I do also 
charge my personal Estate with the payment thereof  Also I give and devise unto my Brother 
John Barns of Chadlington in the County of Oxford aforesaid Yeoman All that my life 
Estate lying on the Liberties and ....of Chadlington aforesaid now in the occupation of my said 
Brother with the appurtenances for and during his life subject nevertheless to one Annuity or 
Yearly rent Charge of fourteen pounds of good and lawfull money of Great Britain for and 
during the Term of her life free and clear from all Taxes and other Duties and after the 
decease of my aforesaid Brother John Barns I give and devise my aforesaid life Estate and his 
life and also during the Life of Thomas Newton and being the third Person nominated as the 
Lease still subject to the aforesaid Annuity during my said wife's Life Also I give and 
bequeath to my Kinsman Thomas Newman son of my Sister Mary Burman the sum of ten 
pounds to be paid within one year after my decease Also I give to my brother in law John 
Wise one shilling Also I give and bequeath unto Robert Barns son of my Brother John Barns 
all such of my Household Goods that I have purchased since my Marriage All the rest of 
my..to such Persons Household Goods and ffurniture of Household Stuff and all Firewood 
and other ffuel whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my Wife Catherine Barns if it shall 
happen for me to....my Wife Catherine Then I will and order that the said one hundred and 
sixty pounds....to such persons as in and by her last Will and Testament shall be directed All 
the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate whatsoever I give and bequeath to my 
Brother John Barns whom I also nominate constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last 
Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 11th day of
