In the name of God Amen I William CLISBY of Henton in ye parish of Chinnor  in ye County 
of Oxon, Yeoman being sick in body but of perfect memory (thanks be to God)  do make and 
ordain this my present testament ……        known my last will in manner & form following that is 
by my first I humbly commit my soul unto ye  God of my salvation and my body by ye earth 
whereof it came to be buried when it shall please God to ….     ……   at ye discretion of my 
Executors …   after named  expecting a joyous resurrection to eternal life in that great day of 
Christ when all  ….. shall appear before his glorious tribunal  And as to …..    ……….. my 
worldly  estate which Gofd in mercy hath sent me I order D[evise?] give and bequeath ye same 
as followeth 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my brother THOMAS CLISBY twenty shillings of lawful English 
money  
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my kinsman JAMES CLISBY son of the said Thomas ye 
sum of forty shillings of like lawfull money
ITEM I give & bequeath unto my kinsman SAMUEL CLISBY (son of ye said Thomas) ye 
sum of twenty shillings of like lawfull money
ITEM I give unto my brother THOMAS his son-in-law & to his wife forty shillings a piece of 
like lawfull money 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto ye children of my brother THOMAS his son-in-law ye sum of 
six pounds of lawfull money to be equally divided amongst them and if either or any of them do 
decease before they have had or received their share and part thereof that when ye part or 
share  of him her or them so deceasing shall remain to  be paid unto and amongst ye survivors 
or survivor whomsoever and whatever 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my brother ARTHUR CLISBY& unto his wife fifty shillings a 
piece of like and lawfull money 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my brother ARTHUR's children and grandchildren ye sum of 
eleven pounds of like lawfull money to be equally divided amongst them and if either or any of 
them do decease before they have received & had their part & share thereof that then ye part 
or share of him her or them so deceased shall remain to be paid unto and amongst ye 
survivors of ye same children and grandchildren 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my brother-in-law HENRY YOUNG and to MARY his wife 
and my sister forty shillings a piece of lawfull money 
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my kinsman JOHN YOUNG twenty shillings
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my kinsman HENRY YOUNG thirty shillings
ITEM I give unto my kinsman THOMAS YOUNG thirty shillings
