In the Name of God Amen This Twenty fifth Day of October in the _____ Year of the 
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God King of Great 
Brittan Anno Domo. 1741 I John Jackman of Hanwell in the County of Oxon 
Husbandman being weak of Body but of perfect minde memory and Understanding 
thanks be given to Allmighty God for the same and considering that death is certain 
and the time thereof uncertain Do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament 
in manner and form following, that is to say, First and Principally I Comend my Soul 
into the hands of the Allmighty God my Creator hoping for Eternall Life through the 
Mercy and Meritts of Jesus ~ Christ my Saviour and Redeemer and as for my 
Worldly Estate itt hath Pleased Allmighty God of his goodness to bless me with all I 
give and dispose thereof as followeth  Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Eldest Son 
John Jackman All my now Dwelling house and half Yard Land with all my STock 
Crops Housall Goods and Implements for Husbandry  And I do Will that my saide 
Son John Jackman shall live att the same and take Care to Breed up my three 
youngest Children that is to say Thomas Jackman Edw Jackman and Hannah 
Jackman till they are capable of Providing for themselves  And I do Will that if either 
of my other Children should be Destitute of a Place that my said Son John Jackman 
shall give them House Roome; Nevertheless if my said Son John Jackman shall not 
think well of the same them I do Will that all my Effects shall be sold and after my 
Debts and Funeral Expenses are discharged the rest to be divided amongst my 
Seaven Children Share and Share alike Excepting my Eldest Son a Double part And 
I do Will that the rent of my House and Land shall be for my three Younger Children 
till such time they are able to Provide for themselves and then I doe Will that my said 
Son John Jackman shall have the saide House and half yard land whom I make Sole 
Executor of this my last Will and Testament  And I do desire my loving Brother John 
Blan of Overthroope and Edward Buller of Hanwell to be Overseers to see the same 
performed In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and Seal the day and

and Declared by the said John Jackman the Testator in the sight and Presence of us 
and our Names Subscribed as Witnesses in the sight and Presence of the said
