The Will of Samuel Walker late of Northampton deced An alteration of circumstances in my family having made a ???. Arrangement of what remains of my property necessary I Samuel Walker do hereby set aside my former Will which may be in being and I do as I formerly did, leave my wife in possession of all I may be possest of at my decease desiring that things may be kept as nearly as possible in the same state they now are during her life time. But should it be necessary for her maintenance part of the household furniture shall be sold. After her decease I will and bequeath as follows To my son John Walker I remit what he may appear to be in debt to me, on condition that he discharge any note of hand I may have signed to borrow money on his account and that he pay his mother two shillings a week during her life. I also give him all my wearing apparel and implements and materials of the tailoring trade. I appoint my Daughter Phebe Walker to be Executrix of this my last will because she is best acquainted with my concerns. To her I bequeath what may remain of the household goods and the contents of the Shop after paying my Debts and defraying funeral expences and the expences of administering But if what remains of the household goods and the contents of the shop be insufficient to defray the before mentioned expences the deficiency shall be made up out of the money which arises from the sale of the house I now live in, and the remainder of the money shall be equally divided between my four children Viz John Walker Samuel Walker Henrietta Chapman and Phebe Walker share and share alike Samuel Walker Signed this 31st Day of December 1811 in the presence of John Wood Wm Wood Proved 27 September 1814 (Sub one hundred pounds) Northamptonshire Record Office
