NRO Ref: X 37. Will dated 30th October 1602 Probate 15th November 1602. In the name of God Amen. I William DOLTON of Middlethorpe in the parish of Weedon Pinckney being sick in body, but of good and perfect memory, thanks be unto god for it, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First, I bequeath my soul unto God my maker, and my body to be buried in the earth from whence it was taken. Item, I give unto the church of Weedon 6 pence. Item, I give unto either of my daughters twenty marks of good and lawful money or money worth to be paid unto them at the age of twenty years. Item, I give unto Mary my wife my messuage or tenement in Middlethorpe aforesaid during her natural life and afterwards, after her decease unto my two daughters Elizabeth and Amie, equally to be divided between them. Item, I give unto the poor of the parish 12 pence where most need shall be thought. The residue of my goods and chattles unbequeathed I give unto Mary my wife whom I make my sole Executrix of this my will. And do ordain my beloved friends in Christ, Henry BULL and Henry PERIN, overseers of this my will. In witness whereof I have set unto my hand the 30th day of October in the year of our lord god 1602.
