NRORef: L 152. Will dated 25th September 1558 Probate 19th April 1558. In the name of God Amen, Anno Domini 1558 25th day month of September. I Thomas WARKWAS of the parish of Weedon Pinckney, husbandman, whole of mind and perfect remembrance make my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul unto almighty god and my body to be buried in the church yard of Weedon aforesaid. Also I bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 2 pence. Also I give to Thomas WARKWAS my son a grysold cow and a childer hogsell and I give to every child that I have besides, a sheep. Also I give to every child I have 20 shillings a piece and if god doth his will by any of my children then the said bequest shall remain among them that live, and Alice WARKWAS my wife shall deliver the said bequests to my children at their marriage or sooner if it shall my wife please, and the said sheep shall be delivered to my said children if god do his will by me immediately. I owe to Thomas WARKWAS my son 6 shillings 8 pence, and god do his will by my wife then my best bound cart shall remain to James WARKWAS and Thomas WARKWAS my sons, and I give to Ellen WARKWAS and to Grace WARKWAS my daughters, either of them 2 strikes of barley and I give to Weedon bells a strike of barley, and I make my wife Alice WARKWAS my sole executrix and make James WARKWAS and Thomas WARKWAS my sons, overseers of my will. The rest of my goods not bequeathed, my debts paid, I give to Alice WARKWAS my wife, these being witnesses, Sir Thomas FOX vicar of Weedon and Thomas RICHARDS with other moo. Probate 19th April 1558.
